Hotel Sekitei — Attraction in Fuefuki

Found the hotel over booking.com and booked a NON-SMOKING room. As we first entered the room, a wave of cold smoke and Alcohol came towards us.

We told the Reception about this and got as reply that the Hotel would be "smoking friendly", only after we told them that there is literally an Ashtray standing in our Room they committed that it's a smoking Room and they can't change us to a non smoking room as they are fully booked.

The offer was to Spray cheap Air refresher into the Room as all other Rooms had the same smell of cold smoke and alcohol. Aircon or Heater is unusable since it will just blow you more nicotine smell into the room as the Aircon is literally brown already from previous customers. No compensation was made, no offer to make the stay more comfortable.

So if you look for a place where to smoke and drink until you can't stand anymore, book a room there. Otherwise, avoid the hotel as it...

most of the hotel/ryokan was full when we wanted to book, and this was available. When booking, we werent told of the shared bathroom. There is a toilet however in the room. If you want your personal space maybe this ryokan is not for you, shower is in the big bath/ onsen on the highest level. There is an outdoor onsen available. Please take note that they swap the bath signs every 12 hrs, so make sure you enter the right bath! You can also book the family bath for 3,000 yen 40 mins. At least you have privacy and its outdoor.||We didnt have the kaiseki dinner, but the hotel also have room service.||Breakfast was big spread but more japanese food. Everyday its the same food. Hotel is only 5 mins away from isawa onsen station...

Came with my big family including my ten month old baby. The rooms smelled of cigarettes but were otherwise very nice and comfortable. The public onsen was great, I was only able to enjoy once, but it was good. There is only one open air bath so the switch the men and women's every other day. The breakfast was ok, I've had bigger buffets at smaller hotels so was expecting a bigger selection for it having such a grand hall but it was ok. Would like fresh fruits and more vegan...
