Might be difficult to find since the staff only speaks Japanese and only locals come here, but we were fortunate enough to be in a tourist group that took us here. The hospitality here is A+ even if the staff doesn't speak English : you can feel it! I was especially amazed at the granny hostess at the restaurant, she was very organised and took care of the whole group very nicely and with great care. ||||The restaurant serves traditional Japanese meal with cooked beef, noddles, mushrooms, sushi, rice, eggs, etc. There is also an onsen (Male and female) where you can spend the night to relax in hot water and rejuvenate yourself. After the hot spring, you can go back to your rooms and find your floor beds (comfy) on tatamis and rest up. The breakfast meal is also a traditional Japanese one like the supper. ||||There isn't a lot to do around the inn, but it is mainly to relax and to enjoy the hot spring. ||||There is Wi-fi at the location and a TV...
Read moreWe stayed at Hotel Sekifu for one night between Kanazawa and Tokyo. It was a wonderful get away and a good chance to experience a Japanese onsen and outdoor bath. The hospitality was amazing and the food was exquisite. The owner went to school in America and took over the hotel from his grandparents. We called the day before we arrived and the Hotel van was there to pick us up. Had we stayed one more day, we could have taken a day trip to Mt. Fuji which was 45 minutes away. Our family of six enjoyed the very special dinner and breakfast in our private dining room and the hot springs. The kids enjoyed feeding the koi in the pond. Highly recommended to experience true Japanese hospitality outside of a city. So glad we took...

The room was beautiful, the lobby looked high-end, and the hot springs and dinner were great. But I couldn't understand why the staff came to make the bed before we checked out. The expected check-out time was 10 am, but a male staff member came to make the bed at 8:30 am. The procedure made us very angry. The male staff member did not ring the bell or knock on the door. He opened our door directly with the key without permission. And we were changing clothes at the time. Our mother and aunt who lived in the room next to us also encountered the same situation. Both my mother and aunt were very scared. We complained to the hotel manager about this situation afterwards, but received only a verbal apology and no other concrete action from the hotel. As a hot spring hotel with a beautiful environment and history, this incident made me very disappointed...
