I recently visited the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre and was thoroughly impressed. The journey there by train was convenient, with just a short walk from Fujinomiya Station. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the ticket, and it was a nice touch that entry is free for kids and the elderly. The centre offers exhibitions on every floor that delve into the history of the volcano and the local communities surrounding it. Each exhibit was informative and engaging, providing a deeper understanding of this iconic landmark and its significance. The highlight for me was the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from the top floor. It's a sight that truly stays with you, offering a unique perspective of Japan's natural beauty. Additionally, the ground floor café was a delightful spot to relax and refuel. They offer a variety of food and snacks, as well as souvenirs from Fuji, making it a perfect place to grab a memento of your visit. Overall, the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the cultural and natural heritage of this iconic site. It offers a comprehensive and immersive experience that's both educational and visually stunning.

Probably one of the best museums we been to in our Japan trip. This modern, beautiful building with its Tori gate and water feature at the front is a must visit attraction in Fujinomiya. Inside there is plenty of interactive and interesting things to watch, touch and learn about Mount Fuji. Weird thing is they ask you to start from the very top of the building and and make your way down. But at the very top you are greeted with an opportunity to take a rooftop photo with Mount Fuji. On our day of visit it was pretty cloudy so didn’t get a really good shot with her. The staff are really nice and accommodating and if you have school, college or university student in your party and can prove it they can visit for free. But if not it’s only 300 Yen which is a very cheap for the quality of this museum. It also has a movie theatre inside that shows a 15 minute montage/ video and a small cafe in the lobby.

I came to the Mount Fuji Heritage Centre mainly for the views, but was genuinely surprised by how much more it offered. The art exhibitions were truly impressive, and I found the information about Japan's volcanic activity really interesting and well-presented. Staff were helpful throughout my visit, making navigation easy. Definitely worth seeing even if you're primarily interested in Mount Fuji itself - the additional exhibits add a lot of value to the experience. There was no queue when we arrived on a Monday afternoon. Trick for free parking: park at the nearby Aeon mall which is a few minutes away (and pick up snacks there on your road trip)

WOW!! Beautiful architecture and design of the building/museum. The water feature out front initially mimicks an upside down Mt. Fuji But the Beauty of seeing the image of the mountain is in it's reflection on the water. The museum itself is Beautifully laid out describing the ascent of Mt. Fuji through time and today with interactive exhibits as well. The true Beauty lies in the observation deck to see Mt. Fuji... Unfortuately, Mt. Fuji was covered by clouds the day we went, But the museum was still worth it to at least learn about the mountain. Museum can be done comfortably between and hour or two and tickets can be bought there. ENJOY!

This place gives you a nice educational overview of the geologic history of Mount Fuji🗻, the cultural history of the people who lived in the area🙂, as well as other scientific informational stuff about the animals and plants! It took me about four hours to get through it (To give you context: I read through about 75% of the exhibits and saw all three movies😆). Here is a good planning tip: If you get here when it opens, you will have the time to catch the local Fujinomiya bus🚌 to Shiraito and Otodome Falls. They are half an hour away. Take an hour and 50 minutes to go around the trail and you will be back by dinner time!⏳️
