I recently visited the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre and was thoroughly impressed. The journey there by train was convenient, with just a short walk from Fujinomiya Station. I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of the ticket, and it was a nice touch that entry is free for kids and the elderly.
The centre offers exhibitions on every floor that delve into the history of the volcano and the local communities surrounding it. Each exhibit was informative and engaging, providing a deeper understanding of this iconic landmark and its significance.
The highlight for me was the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji from the top floor. It's a sight that truly stays with you, offering a unique perspective of Japan's natural beauty.
Additionally, the ground floor café was a delightful spot to relax and refuel. They offer a variety of food and snacks, as well as souvenirs from Fuji, making it a perfect place to grab a memento of your visit.
Overall, the Mt. Fuji World Heritage Centre is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore the cultural and natural heritage of this iconic site. It offers a comprehensive and immersive experience that's both educational and...
Read moreProbably one of the best museums we been to in our Japan trip. This modern, beautiful building with its Tori gate and water feature at the front is a must visit attraction in Fujinomiya.
Inside there is plenty of interactive and interesting things to watch, touch and learn about Mount Fuji. Weird thing is they ask you to start from the very top of the building and and make your way down. But at the very top you are greeted with an opportunity to take a rooftop photo with Mount Fuji. On our day of visit it was pretty cloudy so didn’t get a really good shot with her.
The staff are really nice and accommodating and if you have school, college or university student in your party and can prove it they can visit for free. But if not it’s only 300 Yen which is a very cheap for the quality of this museum. It also has a movie theatre inside that shows a 15 minute montage/ video and a small cafe...
Read moreHiked Mt. Fuji before coming here and eventually learnt a lot about Mt. Fuji. Particularly interested in how Mt. Fuji is incorporated in Japanese history and culture. You will find lots of interesting facts about Mt. Fuji. On the highest level, you can see a very beautiful view of Mt. Fuji (unfortunately I came when it was cloudy but I can imagine how beautiful it is). It’s a perfect place to capture the mountain since Fujinomiya is the closest city to Mt. Fuji compared to other places (e.g. Fujiyoshida, Yamanakako, Gotemba). Staff is very friendly and guide me when I have questions. There is a cafe and souvenir shop which I think pretty unique since I couldn’t find the merchandises in...
