This place is super clean, staff is extremely friendly, and the location is decent with the nearest JR station about an 8 minute walk. The beds seem to be full size and the capsules are really roomy.
The big issue is the noise level in the sleeping room. Of course this is dependent on who is staying there at the same time as you, and their respect for quiet, but the layout itself lends to the ease of our being noisy. There are about 40 beds in a room and that means any of those 40 people can be making noise--more people, more chance of noise. Also, there needs to be some sort of white noise to drown out potential human noise. You can hear a pin drop. There is supposed to be a no noise or talking policy in the sleeping room but that wasn't the case when I visited for some people.
Another issue with the layout is that the lockers are down by the lobby and the bathrooms, showers, and beds are down the hall and up two fights of stairs if you stay in the mixed gender area. That means people will most likely take all of their baggage upstairs and therefore have to rummage through it while in the sleeping area.
Overall clean and friendly but I...
Read moreExtremely high quality accommodation for a very affordable price. The facilities are so clean and well taken care of!
There is a receptionist for late check in. I arrived around 21:00 and had no issues.
The bathroom provides soap, lotion, Q-tips, napkins. There is a washing machine and dryer in one of the bathrooms.
You sleep in a cubicle with a privacy curtain. Sound will carry in the sleeping, but they ask guests to only sleep in the sleeping area. Each cubicle has a hook, TV, shelf, clock/ radio, and light. I was given free slippers, towel, and a bag to carry my toiletries in. Very luxurious and generous hospitality.
You are given a private locker to store your belongings in outside of the sleeping area. There are extra lockers available for use if you cannot fit all your belongings.
There are two communal areas, each with cooking facilities (microwave, fridge, hot water machine). The upstairs communal room even has a massage chair! Amazing for relaxing after hiking Mt. Fuji.
They have lots of posted information for Fuji hikers, and information on local restaurants. The hotel is walking distance to a mall and shrine.
Thank you...
Read moreLet’s start with the good: It’s very cheap, great location & it could just be a coincidence, but the toilets and showers have always been extremely clean when I’ve used them. Huge plus for that. To my surprise, they have free bike rental as well. Message chair in lounge as well as fridge. Friendly employees.
The not so good: As others have mentioned, you can pretty much hear everyone around you. Even the breathing of others, or someone just walking by. The lockers they have also did not fit my relatively small luggage. Also, in my opinion, they keep the room way too hot for my liking. Almost sweating bullets while trying to sleep.
I think as a one day accommodation, this is a very good and cheap choice, but...
