Heads up for the first timers if you’re visiting on the weekends or holiday. You need to figure out which job you want to pick for your kid. Otherwise, you won’t be able to get. This place runs entirely on first come, first serve. You won’t get your money’s worth without planning for the visit.
The lines can get long, and appointment slots will get snatched by other Fukuoka locals or returning savvy parents.
If you’re visiting on the weekday, you can potentially extend your duration, whereas weekend you can only pick part 1 or part 2 (I.e 0900-1400).
They only allow you to take one job at a time, instead of capitalizing on time management for kids - like real life scenarios. We booked a job at ANA at 10:55, and the police department wouldn’t let us book a slot at 12:00 because of the appointment with ANA. What is wrong with scheduling “appointments” especially if you limit ticket sales and have limited time slots as it is?
And we only have a few hours from 09:00 to 14:00. Could see kids getting their hopes crushed left and right. Blasphemous appointment system all around, poorly executed, Kidzania.
That said, each individual job location seems to merit a lot of entertainment and value for the kids. So management 1/5, and fun...
Read moreKidzania Fukuoka is a wonderful place for kids to explore a variety of real-world careers in a hands-on, exciting environment. From piloting a plane to making sushi or pizza, the range of activities is fantastic and each role feels thoughtfully designed.
However, booking activities can be a challenge — especially for popular jobs like sushi chef and pizza maker. You must finish one activity before booking the next, so it’s easy to miss out on some of the more in-demand experiences if you’re not quick.
One major downside was the experience at the shop where kids can redeem their KidZos. The shop closes quite early, even though many kids are still finishing their roles late into the session. Unfortunately, the staff at the redemption shop were rude and unapologetic when we asked about it. Being a little kinder and more accommodating — even taking just two extra minutes to help kids who worked hard all day — would have made a big difference. It was disappointing to see that level of customer service in what is otherwise a place centered around creating positive experiences...
Read moreGreat place for the kids to experience different jobs in a fun environment. We were lucky to book on a day where there were E@K activities whereby certain activities are conducted entirely in English. (Scroll to last pic) I agree with some of the comments on scheduling. As long as it doesn’t overlap, they should allow it because the kid will be able to expect what’s going to come next. We were there from 3.30pm to 8pm and there were such a huge selection of jobs and I don’t think we even finished half. There were some cool and interesting ones like bath bomb making or fever patch making by Hitsamitsu, to the more popular ones like pilot, cabin attendant, fireman, etc. Overall the staff were extremely encouraging, always cheering and clapping to spur the kids on. A star for effort! As it was a weekday and I suspect it’s also because it’s the second session, it wasn’t too crowded. The staff even approached my kids to join their “job” when the time was up and no kids were in their store “working”. Good experience overall with some improvements...
