A must visit for any Gundam fan. This life sized Gundam was specifically designed for Lalaport and what a marvel it was to see in person. The Gundam has a short display of lights, music and small movements on the hour every day, so be sure to go outside when it's time! Just in front of the statue is a small Gundam shop that sells Gundam related merchandise, but you can also go inside the mall to the Gundam Base to get a full selection of products. Read moreThis is actually the name for the integrated area on the 4th floor of LaLaPort which includes the Side-F store, a small gundam gashapon area, and a Namco with lots of gundams in their claw and prize machines. The side-f store is a must-visit and a full five stars, but I gave the Namco a separate review of 1 star for how much of a rip-off and money drain it is, probably the worst arcade to try your luck at, so don't. Read moreWelcome to Gundam Side-F! Is it worth visiting Fukuoka for this? It depends on who you are. If you are a Gundam fan this place has a lot of limited edition merch available nowhere else! Bring an extra luggage! We've been to Odaiba to the Gundam Base twice and I feel it's pretty similar. But my son is a huuuuge fan and thinks this Gundam has more impact. 🙄
Go early. It gets crowded with families and kids after lunch. Hard to get taxis here so be prepared to call for one...
