We have gone to 3 different Round 1s around Japan and this was the worst one.
Knowing what the other places offer, this one had the absolute worst value for your money. We bought the same ticket as we did the other places (costing about 6,600 yen for two people).
In this Round 1, all we got for that amount was darts, billiard, ping pong and a bunch of karaoke rooms. We went to the roof, but all outdoor activities were closed due to rain (which is fair), but the only open thing up there was batting which cost extra - in the other places it’s part of the ticket price. We also got two different QR codes which gave us ONE game each on an already assigned UFO catcher - we didn’t win anything. The other QR code offered 10 medals per person for the medal games, we then had 20 medals total, which is not enough to play unless you buy extra yourself.
In the two other places we’ve visited, there are huge play areas with various arcade games, different basket ball courts, shooting ranges, archery, golf, batting cages (no extra charge), ping pong games, dart, roller skating etc. everything in the other places are included in the price, and there is so much more to do for the SAME PRICE!
The system in this branch also was quite confusing, as you had to get tickets for basically everything you wanted to do. Whereas the other branches, you can just roam around and play - and if it’s busy, there are rules about how much time you can spend on the same game.
I was extremely disappointed in this branch of Round 1, everything we love about it wasn’t available here, and we paid the same price. It was a huge waste of money and it ruined one of our last days in Japan.
Instead of using up 3 whole floors for bowling alleys, they should have more space for the same kind of games as other Round 1’s offer. It is completely unfair to take the same price for this.
If I had known what I know now, I would have not paid to go to this Round 1, I would have instead just gone to the two other arcades on the same street.
We usually spend a whole day in Round 1, but we ended up leaving early once we realized everything we were looking forward to do wasn’t available.
The staff was nice tho and did try to help us understand the confusing...
Read moreProbably one of the best game centre across major cities in Japan, with an excellent enviroment and atmosphere, a great variety of music games and an acceptable difficulty of crane games.
The amusement corner opens at 6:30 and closes at 0:59, which is with the longest operating hours across Japan, as the same as in Tokyo and Osaka.
Crane games are located in the whole floor of B1/F and 1/F at two prices: 200yen/round with a higher-than-average grip power / win rate, and ordinary 100yen/round. The majority of prizes are the latest figures and plush toys, with a few of snacks.
Music games are all located in 3/F, which are all in excellect conditions in terms of sensitivity and cleanliness. The variety of music games is amazing and probably one of the best across Japan: from the latest games like Music Diver and Ongeki, to the popular games like Beatmania and Dance Dance Revolution and classic games like Gitodora, Taiko and Pop'n Music. The number of machines of each type of music games are also satisfying, there are at least 2-4 sets for older music games and 8 or more for popular and newer games.
There are clean but small restrooms at each floor and small smoking rooms in 3/F and 4/F, with excellent ventilation that contributes to a smoking-smell free environment.
Personally I would vote for Round 1 Fukuoka Tenjin for one of the best spots in Japan for music game lovers. Busy hours are at weekends and 12-3, 7-9 p.m. in weekdays. Come by when you are in Fukuoka!
Tip: There is an elevator located at the left of the main entrance, which is a short cut to the 3/F...
Read moreThe person working to help anyone doing the claw games was kind and patient. Otherwise, if you don’t speak Japanese staff will most likely target you. We paid to play 2 games of bowling and saw others were drinking so we thought it was BYOB (it is not). When staff saw our drinks they instructed us not to drink them, so we didn’t. Why one of the workers decided to hand us a sheet of paper in only Japanese with no further instructions baffles me. But it stated they had “contacted the authorities due to one of the reasons below” and nothing we did fell under any one of the check boxes. So when we confronted staff they said our game was over even though we hadn’t even finished our first game. When we pushed back the person simply stated it was fine and walked away. Foreigners beware of being scammed at...
