Plaza Hotel Premier — Hotel in Fukuoka

I honestly never write these, but I am warning you that this place is terrible and they gave me the hardest time to refund my money when I wanted to leave. I have stayed in many hotels, and this was the worst experience of my life. I left the next day after the toilet broke at 2 a.m., and they fixed it with duct tape after an hour of messing around with it (they would change my room, but insisted that they would fix it). Also, AFTER I checked in and paided in advance (that was required), they gave me a notice that the water for the toilet, shower, and the electricity wouldn't be available for one whole day of my stay because of a maintenance check. This was during the Spring, so it's still cold at night, and no electricity means no heater. 🙃 No reduced price or anything. Just expected I would pay to sleep in a dark, cold hotel without anything to use, and I wouldn't even be able to go to the bathroom....

Cheap hotel in convenient location in Daimyo/Tenjin, don’t let the “Premier” part fool you. Super small room with bath. This area is the hotspot for nightlife and trendy Western brand shops so expect loud people/foot traffic noise until very late (3am). Doors and walls are super thin, you will hear everything all night long, bring earplugs. If you only have 1 (ideal) or 2 people, this is a perfect hotel if you are trying to save money.

Carpet is stained, decor is old, price reflects it so can’t really complain. You get what you pay for.

Self check in, one person (staff) available to help if needed. Amenities located on ground floor, grab them before you go up to room. It’s not the Ritz but its very convenient, popular area for young 20-30 somethings with no kids. Didn’t see a single kid...

Room is very small. A double bed was painfully small for two adults. There is only one chair in the room. When one works at desk, the other should stay on bed or at floor. There was no English channel on TV. The bathroom remained wet for the most time. Water pressure was okay. Wifi was at times patchy.||||There is a microwave as well as an ice machine on the 5th floor. Amenities are to be picked up from the lobby. The overall quality of amenities was nice. The staff was kind.||||I was really impressed by the convenient location of this hotel. Most touristy sites of Fukuoka are located within half an hour to walk. Hotel is not too far from the subway station (Tenjin).
