This is one of the affordable hotels I've been eyeing in Tenjin that is nearby Mandarake.
Hotel is only around 15-20mins away from the airport. Approximately 3k+ yen.
Upon arrival, passports have to be presented and we have pay local city taxes, which we are aware of.
Bathrobe, bedroom slippers, toothbrush, comb, cotton, hair elastic, lotion, body sponge, and razor are available in the lobby for the guests to take. Free Brewed Coffee is also available. Free wi-fi is good enough. 2 separate elevators were also working.
Room is good enough for two, a bit roomier than the standard budget hotels in Tokyo/Osaka because I can open my suitcase on the floor.
Lobby and hallways have centralized heaters, while individual rooms has a on/off control of the heater. Open the windows if you want the room to be cold.
Bed is spacious and comfortable enough (not too soft, not too hard). Pillows are a bit hard, but additional room pillows have no extra charge just have to request it in the front desk.
Toilet and bath is old but functional. I didn't use the bathtub since it has cracks on its floor. Mirror has a partial heater to avoid fogging. Hair blower was also provided. TV, desk lamp, electric kettle, and mini ref are also available to use.
Nearest main train station (Tenjin) is approximately 500m (about 10minute walk). The nearest 7eleven and Lawson are 200m (about 2min walk).
Room cleaning is not done everyday but change of towels and mat is given everyday. If you want room cleaning, you have to request it on the front desk by 10pm the day before.
One of the main reasons why we do not want to stay here again is because of their policy on extension stay fee which will be charged as whole day (approximately 17k+ yen/room). We previously stayed in a hotel in Osaka that allowed us to extend with a minimal hourly fee. 10am is their standard checkout and our flight was 8pm. We just left our luggage in the hotel lobby and roamed around the city before we took off.
Staff is courteous especially the Nepali. He was friendly and had a little chat with us before he clocked out. We requested a bigger taxi on the front desk to fit our 4 luggage and 4 hand carry bags.
Overall, this hotel is decent enough to stay in. With limited budget, I guess this is fine. But this is my least favorite hotel that I've...
Read moreI stayed here for 2 nights from March 10th to 12th, and it was so absurd that I am leaving a comment... On the second night, I had trouble sleeping because an alarm that I didn't set went off in bed around 7 o'clock. Check-out is at 10:00, but I woke up too late and was getting ready when an employee knocked on the door from outside. After saying that I would leave quickly, I came out between 10:30 and 40, but since the employee came out late, he told me to pay an extra day's accommodation fee and added it to the calculator. I spent 9,900 yen and showed it. So, I explained the situation and asked if I would pay for one day, but they kept repeating that it was a hotel rule. When I looked at Trip.com, there was no such rule, and there was no such information on the written paper when I arrived at the hotel. The staff couldn't communicate well and didn't have time, so I paid cash and left, but they didn't even give me a receipt. I just feel like I was ripped off. Oh my god, I wasn't even an hour late, but they charged me an extra day's lodging fee and they didn't even let me go back to the room. This is how they do it. Where is this listed? If this is a hotel rule, I think I need to report it to the tourism office. How do I get...

Good way: Location is good, not far to mall and station, this is nice 👍. Reception is good as well, we told them something we concerned and them pay attention to listen and try to solve.
Need to Improve: Room’s cleanliness. We felt uncomfortable for first time inside the room, when I opened the curtain, I saw a small cigarette trash box that someone used on the window platform. There is no smoke smell inside but clean stuff really hard so maybe ingnore some place to clean.
Second day, when we finished our schedule back to room, we found an electric cigarette on the top of toilet paper shell which we used in the first day. That’s surprise us cause if the stuff was there we should figured out in the first day when we used toilet paper.😨
The second night when we packing luggage, we picked up something on the floor and we looked some trash on the ground.
Japan is a country we love to travel , one of reason is clean and we felt many times in before travel experience.
The opinions here is not only for traveler review but let hotel staff to know what they did it and what they didn’t do.
Reception who speak with us in 2019-12-10, thank you.
