we had difficulty finding this Camp Mura. A local guy working opp the Togendai stn couldn't helped us initially until I managed to spot a vicinity map and pointed out the camp area that I thought I was going. Immediately, he showed us the correct forested pathway. However with no signboard that we were heading in the right direction nor a soul to confirm, it was indeed scary! Luckily we remembered we were in Japan. When we reached the camp site, most units were silent, vacant perhaps||||The housekeeper and the front office guys were very helpful though they dont speak English. But we managed to communicate n the front office was able to indicate the bus time schedule to Gotemba factory outlet. The unit was a 2-room with a double deck bed and a single bed each-sleeps 6. Comes with heater, very cosy, clean. Kitchen equipped with rice cooker (we had fun cooking instant noodles), kettle, corelle crockery. Only that it did not provide bath soap, shampoo, pyjamas. Otherwise everything was great, glad that we chose this place to stay.||||Getting out was a breeze (u know where u r heading) We went to a nearby bus-stop to get to Gotemba outlet n got back to Togendai in the night-there was light drizzle and pretty chilly and dark. With our torchlight we easily got back to the units quick and safe. ||||The next morning was a Sat-we saw a few groups coming in. We really enjoyed the stay though the parts of pathway is lined with some pebbles which made it difficult to pull your trolley bags along. Great experience but if you have 4 or more to...
Read moreWOULD NOT RECOMMEND Awful place with the most unhelpful staff I’ve ever encountered. Their website lies when it says they have a restaurant-it does not, the public bath is open for 4 hours per week which is ridiculous. No hot water in the entirety of the site so you can’t wash up properly, not allowed to charge phones in the communal area despite there being plugs not in use-staff just came and unplugged our chargers and gave no reason for us not being allowed to do it other than “you just can’t”. You have to pay extra for every part of the campsite such as the bbq area/seating, No showers onsite so you have to pay to use the hot springs at a hotel nearby, absolute rip off campsite, avoid at all costs! Have no idea why they are charging so much...
Read morewe went family of 5 with r.v car van so I can't give review for the rooms. the crew was very nice like all the local Japanese. the place great, very beautiful! on the lake. the w.c very clean. there is nice spot for each r.c with private sink so it's nice. as for the price it's to expensive I think. cost me 11.500 yen when there is no shower included , and no electricity for the car. the private houses looks amazing. I will come for that for sure. as for r.v I can get the same for free with parking area...
