Hakone Kogen Hotel — Local services in Hakone

It's a good place and location, but the staff do not respect their stated time.

The onsen during the morning is from 05:30 AM to 09:00 AM. You will see people going into the bath since 05:40, approximately.

We rushed to eat breakfast, but we couldn't make it faster since you need to bake your own fish on the table and you need to be asking continuously for rice or water to the staff which is busy. We arrived 15 minutes before the closure of the onsen, but we were refused entry even though we arrived earlier than the closing time for cleaning. The lady was sitting in the floor doing nothing at that moment. We have a daughter and she was very excited about the outdoor onsen, but because of the mood of the cleaning person we couldn’t go inside.

If it says 09:00 AM, the hotel should be sure to do things at the correct time. It's a paid service and it’s not cheap, so we expect to use the facility as it is stated and offered.

If you want to enjoy the onsen before you leave in the morning , consider at least 1: 10 hour for breakfast and finish around 08:25. Leave your towel in the locker and after finishing just move...

Lovely ryokan (which means that, yes, you get to sleep on the floor on a futon. That's kinda part of the experience.) Lovely, lovely urroundings, and very close to the ropeway. (which is a little bit of a drawback. Getting to the hotel while it's open is a breeze, but you're looking at 1h+ on a bus after 17.00, when it closes for the night.) Staff did not speak a lot of english, so basic knowledge of japanese was a great help here. They were very attentive and kind. The breakfast buffet was a bit boring, and very seafood-dense. The onsen is fantastic. This ryokan pumps water from their own hot spring, it doesn't get more authentic. And tiptoeing through a 0 degree walkway, only to slip into a warm, lovely onsen in a tiny, amazing japanese garden showing off its autumn colours, and be slow cooked under a starry sky... Well, let's just say that won't soon...

宿泊予約サイトから予約しましたが、後日ホテルの公式HPを見ていたところ神奈川県民割プランがあることに気づきました。電話で、既に予約済みのプランと食事内容などで違いがあるのか問い合わせたところ「同じです」とのことでしたので予約し直して宿泊しました。||||チェックアウトの清算時に分かったのですが、県民割プランは小学生の子供も同額とのこと。子供の夕食が、先付けと牛の陶板焼きの２種類なかったので、同額ならば食事内容も同じではないとおかしいのでは？と尋ねましたが、フロントの方は「県民割プランではそのようになっております」とおっしゃるのみ。後の予定があったので、納得できないまま宿を後にしました。同額払うのは構わないので、それならば食事内容も同じにして欲しかったです。子供はHPの写真を見てとても食事を楽しみしていたので、残念としか言いようがありません。||||宿泊した日は30人ほどと少ない人数の宿泊だったようです。お風呂や食事から部屋に帰る際、エレベーターで乗り合わせる方すべてが私達と同じ階であったので、宿泊者が少ないのでお掃除等で楽なようにまとめたのかなと思ってしまいました。||||＜お部屋について＞||部屋はリノベーションされていて綺麗でした。空気清浄機や加湿器はありません。||||お布団敷きをどうするか尋ねられたため、コロナ禍でもあるので自分たちで敷くことにしましたが、シーツを広げていたところ1枚に長い髪の毛がついていて気持ち悪かったです。||||また、飲み物を飲むためグラスを棚から出したところ、底に白い汚れ・水滴がどのコップにもついていたため使用する気が失せ、直飲みするしかありませんでした。||||なお、お茶菓子やお茶・コーヒーセットはありませんでした。（ポットと湯飲み、グラスがあるのみ）||||冷蔵庫は冷蔵のみ。||||＜食事について＞||食事時間は指定時間（２択）から好きな時間を選ぶようになっていました。||||夕食は、釜に入ったご飯や国産牛の陶板焼き、豚肉のしゃぶしゃぶなどもあり趣向を凝らした内容で、和食会席でしたがお腹いっぱいになりました。||||朝食は和朝食で、ご飯、煮物、味噌汁以外は全てセッティングされていました。コーヒーやジュースなどは無しです。コーヒーを飲みたい場合は、ロビーにあるボタンを押すと出てくるタイプの機械で入れるコーヒーを有料で買うしかないです。||||＜お風呂について＞||お風呂へ繋がる廊下に上がるところで履物を脱ぐようになっていました。棚のほか、鍵付きの履物入れもあるのが良かったです。||||女湯の話になりますが、脱衣所はコンパクトで、シャワーキャップやヘアゴムなど必要最低限のアメニティはありました。洗面台に除菌ウェットティッシュも置いてありました。||||お風呂場入り口に冷水機があり、コロナ対策で紙コップを使用するよう注意書きがありました。||||内風呂は、うっすら白濁した湯のぬるめと熱めのお風呂が2つ、露天風呂は1つ。(※男湯は無色透明だったとのこと)...
