Sōunzan Station is where the big forest begins, offering visitors the chance to appreciate really nice views. As you travel past the forest, you'll encounter the spectacular Volcanic Steam Vent Area of Hakone, also known as Owakudani, providing a dramatic and scenic experience. I was able to make a ton of photos. The station serves as a gateway to some of the most stunning natural landscapes in the region, making it a must-visit for nature enthusiasts.

It is a quaint little town on a hilltop. Surrounded by some amazing scenes. Am glad we visited. The town shuts down by 6pm and apart from the hotel restaurant nothing is open to have dinner. The town is well connected with busses and trains to reach other nearby places. Will definitely come back to visit again. Also be sure to carry warm clothing as it can get cool in the non summer months.

The positives were the views, lovely scenery! The negatives… there were SO many people and honestly not much to do in Hakone overall. Whilst trying to scan my ticket, due to the amount of crowds, my ticket didn’t finish scanning. The lady at the ticket place shouted and pushed me out of the line. I’m Japanese myself and never have I ever had a staff be this rude. Other staff in other areas of Hakone were so rude. Overall, the whole of Hakone was BUSY! Spent 90% of the time queuing and really not much to see. Not only this, it was so expensive with the amount of money you spend on the transport, it’s easier and cheaper to do the trip by car. Would never come back here again. Not worth it.

Awesome cable car that gets you from one side of the mountain to the other. Beautiful views all around, definitely recommend it if you're in town.

Staring place for the cable and the ropeway. Only bad comment is that you need to pay cash so have cash when you come here.
