Hakuba’s The North Face store stands out with its charming wooden storefront, a perfect blend of rustic appeal and modern functionality that immediately catches the eye. Nestled in the heart of Hakuba Valley, this location feels like a natural extension of the surrounding alpine landscape. As someone who loves outdoor adventures, I was instantly drawn to the wide array of skiing and hiking products inside. From high-quality gear to stylish apparel, the store caters to both seasoned adventurers and casual enthusiasts, making it a treasure trove for anyone preparing to hit the slopes or trails. What truly stole my heart, however, was the second-floor dining space. The large floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the distant snow-capped mountains, creating a serene and inspiring atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot where you could sit for hours, sipping a coffee and soaking in the scenery. Unfortunately, by the time I visited, the savory food options had sold out, leaving me unable to sample or share thoughts on the culinary offerings. It was a small disappointment in an otherwise delightful experience, as I’d heard great things about the food complementing the ambiance. Still, the combination of the unique wooden design, excellent product selection, and that stunning upstairs vantage point makes this North Face store a must-visit in Hakuba. I’ll just have to return earlier next time to try the menu!

Read moreWe had an amazing experience at THE NORTH FACE GRAVITY HAKUBA (ザ・ノース・フェイス グラビティ ハクバ). From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and helpful. They assisted us in finding every single item we were looking for, and went above and beyond to make sure my wife and daughter were taken care of as well.
The team paid close attention to our needs and made us feel genuinely welcomed. They even went the extra mile by helping us with directions and recommending another shop for ski rental equipment nearby—which was a huge help!
This level of service truly made our visit enjoyable and stress-free. I highly recommend this store to anyone visiting Hakuba. Whether you’re shopping for gear or just need some local guidance, you’ll be in...
Read moreI visited Hakuba Valley to 🏂 several of their mountain resorts.
I visited The North Face “Gravity” Store in Hakuba to purchase some winter essentials and also their “limited edition” items only found in their store.
Their store is located approximately 1 block away/walking distance from the Japan Rail (JR) Station.
The friendly staff told me they are currently 1 of 2 The North Face “Gravity” stores in Japan.
They have several cool items I cant find back home in the USA.
Apparently, The North Face in Japan is exclusively licensed to a Japanese vendor called Goldwin, which produces/manufactures different items for the Japanese market oppose to the USA vendor called VF Corp.
Also, items I purchased were tax free with proof of my...
