OTTO Donuts — Restaurant in Hakuba

Discovered this lovely donut shop just 1-2 minutes from our stay while passing by, and we were immediately drawn in by its cute and cozy vibes. We decided to stop by for breakfast before heading to the ski resort, and it turned out to be an unexpected highlight of our Hakuba trip!

The shop is small but heartwarming, with every little detail adding to its charm. They have so many delicious donut options—we tried almost every one, and all of them were amazing! There were five of us ordering, and I know our order was quite complicated, especially with coffee included, but the owner lady was incredibly patient, carefully writing everything down to make sure it was correct.

Not your usual donut! Tasty, Crusty, crispy donuts of a wheat-ish crumb in 8 interesting flavours between 230-280 yen each. Flavours including Black roasted soy bean powder (Kinako), kiwi, strawberry and white chocolate, pumpkin, shichimi (Japanese spicy seasoning), blood orange, coffee & chocolate etc. The donuts are baked in the morning and cooled, so are served at room temperature. You can also get honey teas, coffee, lattes 300-400yen but I think they’re made from mixtures, but nice to have with your donut.
