My partner and I recently had the pleasure of attending a Japanese tea ceremony at Okeiko, and it was an amazing experience. The staff greeted us warmly and helped us get dressed in kimonos, making us feel comfortable and welcome right away.

What impressed me the most was the staff's genuine interest in us as guests. They were all well-spoken in English and patiently explained the different aspects of the tea ceremony to us, answering all our questions with a smile. Their attention to detail and hospitality were truly top-notch.

The tea ceremony itself was beautiful and serene, and the venue was decorated with authentic Japanese aesthetics. The tea and snacks were delicious, and I loved learning about the cultural significance of each element of the ceremony. My partner and I felt truly immersed in the Japanese culture and traditions.

Overall, we highly recommend Okeiko for anyone looking for a unique and authentic Japanese tea ceremony experience. The staff's kindness, hospitality, and expertise made this a memorable occasion for us as a couple, and we would definitely go back...

If you are looking to experience a tea ceremony, this is the perfect place. The area is beautiful, and the building used to be owned by monks.

Now, the ladies who performed and assisted me with this cultural experience were absolutely delightful. Their English was very good, but more importantly, their skills and guidance were immaculate.

Because of them, i now treasure a priceless cultural memory. They were so kind and gentle. I was really at peace. I felt like i couldn't thank them enough.

I sat on my knees (the traditional way) during calligraphy, and my legs became numb, but i recommend doing it the traditional regardless. It's a worthwhile experience.

After all the activities, i had a short talk with both of them about our countries & more. My day was complete afterward.

I couldn't be happier to have these ladies help me have this life-long lasting experience.

The tea ceremony itself is nothing short of a must-do if you visit Miyajima! I guarantee that it is worth...

Long story short: Amazing! Can only recommend! Was an unforgetable experience as a foreign couple with the kimono rental and traditionnal workshops.

I found by surprise okeiko when looking at google maps and planning our trip to Miyajima. I was convinced by the many great reviews here and I'm mega happy to say that they are all true! Me (french) and my wife (german) had no issues in English to do kimono rental, calligraphy and the amulet workshops thanks to the amazing and kind staff. Everything was truly awesome to do and experience. The staff is very welcoming and helpful, takes a lot of photos and videos of you. The location is very beautiful and traditionnal. The shrine/room to make the amulet is so surreal and serene for instance.

All in all, it made our trip to Miyajima a wonderful and unforgetable experience.

Merci...

Absolutely loved this place and their friendliness! The experience of choosing and having a kimono fitted on was fun + they did a mini photoshoot outside in their beautiful garden! The traditional tea ceremony was a good learning experience to be apart of where they explain each step of it! They also had an additional activity to the tea ceremony where you act as the tea master where you mix your own tea! After we did a calligraphy session where we wrote on these traditional wooden rice spoon. They were so helpful in teaching us their traditions! During the whole experience, the beautiful ladies were so friendly, amazing and warming to be around! Absolutely loved the vibe there! They also taught us so much throughout the whole session! Definitely something I would recommend doing if you visit Japan!!!
