I only stayed here one night, but I wish I could have stayed longer. I had another reservation booked in another hotel in Hiroshima that I had an early-booking deal with (and I would have lost the rate if I changed it). I had a last minute plan change before coming here, so I had one more day in Hiroshima than expected and I found this hotel. I would have stayed at this one instead, rather than the other option I had gotten a deal with.||This was the first hotel that I stayed where it had the machine check-in, and the gentleman at the desk, who was very kind and welcoming, helped out without me asking, and guided me with each step of the electronic check-in, making it very seamless and thankfully easy. It didn't take long at all, and I didn't feel dumb afterwards. A great first impression.||The rooms were gorgeous. I personally loved the lighting and color scheme that they picked. The room was warm and cozy, and the bathroom was dark, which I thought complimented each other well. As for the view, my window faced the river and the buildings on the other side of it. My favorite room out of all of the ones that I stayed in for my 2 week trip in Japan.||I didn't spend as much time in the breakfast area as I did in the other hotels since I was on the go pretty early, but I remember the breakfast being good. ||This hotel is on a side street, so it feels more local and quiet. It does take a bit longer to get to the main attractions of the city from here, but I think it is worth it though, since you are exploring a more local and non-touristy part of the city.||Good staff, quiet location, pretty...
Read morePleasant hotel walking distance from the station. (There's a lift at exit 5 to bring you up to the street from the station labyrinth.) I walked back to the station for dinner, where there are many popular restaurants, as the hotel restaurant closes ridiculously early.||At around 2am, there was a blackout. In other hotels, you might just sleep through it, unless the warmth from lack of air conditioning woke you. In this hotel, an evacuation alarm shrieked, waking up everyone for no reason. When I've experienced false alarms in other hotels, staff have been able to turn them off in under 5 minutes. The shrieking alarm here lasted for over 30 mins. There was no announcement from staff over the intercom until over 20 mins in. (I found out there was no emergency, just the power outage, from word of mouth from other guests in the hall!) The WiFi went out when the power went out too. (I've experienced other hotels which put their WiFi on their emergency power system and therefore maintained internet during blackouts.)||In short, the system design is atrocious and staff had no power or training to minimise the effects, inform guests, or turn the alarm off.||Also, the windows that could be opened are locked so that we can't get fresh air, which would have been particularly nice to have when the air conditioning...
Read moreWe recently stayed at The Royal Park Hotel Hiroshima Riverside, in room 1409, and were thoroughly impressed with the exceptional service and amenities. Here are some highlights from our experience:||Nice and Helpful Staff: The staff were incredibly nice and helpful throughout our stay. They offered us an early check-in since the room was already available, which was a pleasant surprise. Unlike other hotels that strictly enforce a 3 PM check-in time, the flexibility here was much appreciated. They also assisted us with getting a taxi and provided detailed advice on various ways to get to Miyajima from the property.||Spacious and Comfortable Room: The room was nice and big, with two double beds and an extra bed added, yet there was still ample space to move around comfortably. This made our stay very comfortable and relaxing.||Great Location: The hotel's location is excellent, just a 7-minute walk from Hiroshima Station. The proximity to the station made it very convenient for us to explore the city and its attractions.||Quiet Neighborhood: Despite being close to the station, the hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, across the river, ensuring a peaceful stay.||We highly recommend The Royal Park Hotel Hiroshima Riverside for families and will return on our next visit...
