Utatsuyama Park — Attraction in Kanazawa

A lovely and vast park with winding walking trails, shadowy paths, great views, and tidbits of history to be learned at monuments and temples scattered around the area (all descriptions are in Japanese only). We came during the Golden Week, but there were very few people, which is a plus if you want a change from the crowded center of Kanazawa. Unfortunately a few roads with car traffic cross through the park, so you need to watch out when crossing, but if you pick your route right you don't have to walk along...

The Utatsuyama area is my favorite part of Kanazawa. This pictures are only half of the parks on the mountain. Its only 30 min by bus from Kanazawa station, and 1 hour climbing to the top (with an enjoyable photo session).
