BEWARE OF CANCELLATION POLICY. Many Months in advance before we went to Japan our friend had severe fits & we sadly & very upsettingly had to cancel just the two of them as he couldn't fly, we had hospital proof also of this situation if they requested. We explained this months in advance & hoped to get full refund due to the sad situation. We saw with our own eyes that their spots were (filled )on the night of course as it was full & we have (only just) been refunded 20,000 yen in total. I thought they'd reconsider & pay the full amount back after being paid by another couple! I think they thought this was a kind offering due to policy..The night was 56000 yen for 2 & this is what they paid. Wow!!! I understand non refundable policies but so far in advance and with severe health circumstances this should be considered. YES they also got paid again as they filled all the spots on the night!!! Where is the fairness in that?? We still attended this night too ourselves and now our friends don't get 38000yen back with what they've been through I totally agree with another review not long ago about this night being so overpriced for what it was anyway. We paid just under $300 Australian dollars each for an hour and a half of yes some cultural experience but to us it was overrated & the food was very average. I tried to find something positive with this but...
Read moreThey delivered on their promise that this would be the highlight of our trip. I can’t even begin to describe the elusive charm of Lady Baba. She stole our hearts. I got a deeper glimpse into Geisha culture and an authentic feel for what an evening at a teahouse is like for Geisha customers. It felt like a privilege to be there—genuine and real.
Before we went, I was a bit worried it might be too touristy. And yes, it is made for tourists, but it felt very earnest and special. You get to hear Lady Baba explain the ins and outs of being a Geisha: their attire, schedules, and more. You also get to watch apprentice Geishas perform music and dance, and even join in towards the end to play the taiko drum and participate in drinking games — just like customers would at a private...
Read moreWe spent a magical evening with Lady Baba and the geisha of her teahouse. The show was 90 minutes and featured performances by the geisha as well as games and audience participation. Lady Baba is a charming host who taught us a lot about the mysterious geisha culture and she is very funny too! I appreciate her opening the doors of her teahouse to those who would not otherwise have the opportunity to experience a geisha show firsthand. This was definitely a highlight of our stay...
