The lunch set is a work of art, 15 dishes, each with its own part, From sashimi to shrimp and more, Every bite is worth it, that's for sure.

Braised chicken with a miso base, Chawamushi, a delicate taste, Sea bream and grilled mackerel too, Lotus root croquette, a delight so true.

Beef dumplings with senzenmai, Dried daikon, grilled cod, don't shy away, Custard egg and rice with plum, Dried sardines, oh yum, yum, yum.

And for dessert, a perfect end, Kusamochi zenzai, what a blend, Shibazuke and coffee, the perfect pair, This meal is indeed beyond compare.

Kanazawa is known for its fresh seafood and I do recommend Shogyotei to truly taste the best of it. It's also situated in a lovely part of the city and the walk from the centre was beautiful. We were given a private room overlooking the city of Kanazawa which was a nice surprise. Our mid-May Kaiseki was a seasonal masterpiece, showcasing the best of a Kanazawa Kaiseki experience. Each course was a harmonious blend of flavors. Kaiseki in general can be a bit 'samey' and not all courses are as exciting as each other however this place mixed it up and each course was captivating. Gorgeous meal from start to finish. Not only the preparation but also the dishes that each course was served on made this a feast for the senses.
