This is a small zoo located within Komoro Castle Site Kaikoen Park. As admission to the park itself requires an entrance fee, admission to the zoo is also charged. Most of the animals on display are typical, relatively small animals such as rabbits, pigs and penguins, but there are also a number of large or unusual animals on display, such as lions and peacocks, which are not often seen in small zoos run by a city. As it's a typical zoo in a park run by a city, the grounds are not very large, and if you just want to walk around the park, it should only take about 30 to 40 minutes. The way the animals are displayed is also typical, with most of them being viewed from outside their cages, so it gives the impression that the zoo is more about admiring the animals themselves than observing their natural behavior and ecology. Unless there is an event being held, you basically can't touch the animals, and there is no dedicated petting corner. It's better not to have too high expectations of it as an attraction, but I think it's one of those spots where you can relax and spend time without thinking...
Read moreThe worst zoo I’ve seen in my life. We were depressed after going. The animals are alone, in extremely small cages, without any nature. They really seem bored to death. There is even a dog in cage, as well as a horse - pure nonsense. Don’t support these kind of cheap zoos that don’t care...
