We stayed at dormy inn Kumamoto which was located right beside the mall. We went into the mall to take a look and had a stroll before our dinner. Interestingly we managed to find shops that sold the Kumamoto souvenirs like biscuits and whatnot, with the Kumamoto bear print. We bought a number of shopping bags here with the iconic bear print on it. A very modern mall and it was very clean as well. There were a number of eateries but we did not try them out personally as we were going to the shopping street just across the mall for dinner.

A very nice new shopping experience in kumamoto. Good choice of restaurants and shops here. Free parking for customers who can spend a certain amount, which isn't much. If u love Kumamon, you'd want to make a trip here to visit the shop, as well as taking pics with the huge kumamon on 6th floor open garden.

Transit oriented redevelopment project completed in 2019 with retail, hotel, residence, bus terminal, public facilities and a sleek rooftop garden. The mall is pleasant to visit. The building is stunning and can't be missed if you travel by the city tram. Architecture by Nikken Sekkei + Taikou Architecture

前日から愛知県から旅行に。 ホテルが近いので夜の散歩中、一際目立つライトアップされた大きな建物に目を奪われました！スタイリッシュで段々畑のような建物は、よく見ると緑がいっぱいでした。翌朝、地元の方に聞いたら運良くプレオープンの日だということだったので、こんなナイスなタイミングはないだろうと帰る前に立ち寄りました。 熊本城帰りだったこともあり、暑さとたくさん歩いて疲れていたので、のんびりとブラブラする程度の予定でしたが、見かけた「立ち飲みスペース」のあるこちらに吸い込まれました。「寿司じじや」さんです。現在九州7店舗で展開中とのことで、この地方では有名なようですね！ 写真にあるように、このオープンを祝うメニューが驚きの価格なんですよ。(立ち飲みスペースのみのメニュー)生ビール+3種のおつまみ+3種にぎりがセットで1000円！さらに生ビールはオープン記念価格で280円となっていたので、美味しいから美味しい美味しいって楽しくなって飲んじゃうし、キンキンに冷えた生ビールです、これだけで歓迎の気持ちを感じちゃうほどで、ついつい3杯も飲んでました（笑） サーモンと本マグロが生での提供で、これがウリのようですが、人生初の歯ごたえと旨味を味わえたサーモンとマグロは忘れられない味となりましたが、笑顔と活気のあるスタッフ皆さんのサービスは満点、さらに分厚く大きな新鮮なネタには感動です！美味しい感動と出会いをありがとうございました。熊本にきて残すは熊本ラーメンと海鮮料理だったので、熊本ならではのお店でお寿司を味わえて、地方から来た私たちとしては最高の思い出です。 お腹も気持ちも楽しくなったところで、外観から気になっていた「サクラマチガーデン」に行きたくてエスカレーターを上がっていきました。まだ工事中で入れない場所もあったけど広い！ 風と空を感じるこんな庭園が屋上にあるなんて衝撃的でした。贅沢なスペースでしか得られない穏やかな雰囲気と時間、近所にこんな場所があればと思ってしまったくらい素敵でした。一言でいえば、ただただ羨ましいんですよ（笑） 地方から熊本に行かれるなら是非オススメいたします。

Sakuramachi is Kumamoto city’s central shopping complex with a different kinds of shops. In weekends there are many events to enjoy. In December, there is a Christmas market. It’s bus terminal connects city center to every corner of Kumamoto.

I didnt know what this building was (since I dont speak any Japanese..😅) but it seems to be a shopping mall + bus terminal. I like the choice of restaurants in this building. There is also a movie theater in the building! Which is nice.
