Bise Fukugi Tree Road is composed of several narrow but well-maintained community footpaths which are also suitable for biking. It is highly recommended for visitors to spend 1 to 2 hours to walk the roads and enjoy the communities, including resorts or stores' decorations along the roads, such as Adan Resort- Lanter, Bise. Fukugi trees are windbreak trees which are also called happiness trees, with their biology name- garcinia subelliptica, and trees are not uncommon in several Asian island countries, such as Philippine, Indonesia, Taiwan. But probably NO other countries have ever successfully planted Fukugi trees in such organized chess-board structure as village windbreak. For visitors, there are road signs on various street corners to show the direction of stroll or sightseeing, Thus, there is NO fear for loss in the tall trees' roads. Parking lot for Bise Fukugi Tree Road is limited in space, and drivers may not find parking space easily in weekend, especially in summer time. There is free public toilet, and entrance to visit the Bise Fukugi Tree Road and Village is free of charge.

After eating at Pizza in the Sky we came here to check it out. Glad we did! Not only did we like it but our 3 and 11 year old loved it. There’s old traditional Okinawa houses, cafes spread throughout the path, historical post with information on different parts of the path, and some homes have cute decor. We went the second week of May and it was raining but it only made the experience for the kids better. The trees provided ample coverage from the rain. Lots of shade during those hot summer days coming up. It’s just very pretty and relaxing. We did the whole path (We Just followed the arrows On The stone markings) and on the way back we walked by the sea wall.

We went in the afternoon on a Monday. Parking was a mission however we were patient and slid into some rockstar parking near the main public entrance. The walks are fun and marked by stone arrows that tell you where to go. Now the local vendors have also picked up on this and made their own arrows directing walkers their cafes and souvenir shops. Kind of funny. On the outer loop of that walk is a concrete path ocean walk. Great views and amazing scenery. If you don’t like the heat stay on the tree walk as it gets hot on the ocean walk with no tree cover for shade. This was a bucket list item and now we have crossed it off. Okinawa is amazing.

This is a great area to stroll around and just look at the scenery. You can rent bicycles at the very beginning, which is nice but some of the paths within do not allow bicycles. When you walk down the main road there are several roads to the left and right to explore. There are many little shops and cafes to discover, as well as yard decor and artwork to admire. If you are on a bicycle you may miss something. When you get to the end you can make your way back to the beginning along the water. Very beautiful views! We parked in a paid parking lot up the street from the location.

Come here after a morning visit to The Churaumi Aquarium. Best if you leave the car at the aquarium parking and walk down here. There is parking here but it isn't free unless you drive up to the end where Bisezaki is and walk back to the start. Very nice tree-lined path with lots of cafes and little shops from privately own property. So note that people live here in those houses and be respectful. Some are converted to holiday homes. Walk from the start all the way to the end where Bisezaki is.

Relaxing walk in the middle of an old forest of fukugi trees (lucky trees) leading to Bisezaki Kaigan. Surrounded by the trees, it's a perfect afternoon stroll after a lunch. You can discover nice private houses, guesthouses, cafés, small shops, a few cats and so many shisa... there are a lot of hidden places there. This is very romantic! On your way back, take the seaside walk to enjoy the view, have a swim and stop for a ice cream or juice on the way.
