I wasn't really sure to give this 4 or 5 stars. Maybe 4.4. The overall experience is really rather good, but there are some caveats. The building is new, clean and well air-conditioned and I think would be okay for people with disabilities. There are a lot of exhibits of samurai armour and weapons, as well as some ukiyo-e prints. However, there are a LOT of exhibits and although the swords etc were beautiful, there were so many that I got a bit tired after a while. I think a more concise collection with some other, non-weapon exhibits, might be a bit better. Some signage in English, although there was the same problem as most museums have in Japan as the text is just simply translated and there is no real context given. They often put in references to people or time periods, who I assume Japanese people would know, that most foreigners would have no idea about. 1200 yen is quite high for a Japanese museum, although by Western standards, probably quite cheap. I mean, there is certainly enough to see to make it worth the money, but it'll depend on how much you like looking at swords etc. On the whole, an excellent museum, but I think you do have to have at least a passing interest in the samurai or weapons in general as it is fairly specialised. If you really look at everything properly, you'll need at least two or three hours.

Insightful multi-floor museum with plenty of Japanese sword exhibits and informative posters throughout. Admission was priced correctly, and I had an amazing experience and learned a lot about Samurai outfits and swords. While they have some English language on most posters and sword exhibits, I felt the English content lacked compared to the Japanese contentb they could reprint the labels with the full content in both languages, to improve the experience for tourists, otherwise it would've been 5 stars...

It was a fun and informative experience. It was interesting to learn the backstory of the swords and how they tied into Japanese history. Also, the story of the three spears was intriguing and unfortunate. It was intriguing to learn about their efforts and dedication to recreate accurate replicas, but it is unfortunate because they no longer have access to one of the originals.
