This hotel is in the perfect location for anyone who likes shopping, food and football. It's located across the street from Alpen, which has the best prices and selection for football gear. Much better than Kamo, but this is also located just a couple blocks away. There's Parco mall with the Pokemon Center and a huge Uniqlo/GU just a couple blocks away. The food around the area is great and there isn't really a miss on anything we had. There's a 7-11, Family Mart and Lawson's all within one block. There's a drugstore across the street. The only negative is it's kind of far (10 min walk) from the nearest train station, which is short if you don't have luggage and a bunch of kids with you.||Osu Market Shopping street is just a 10 min walk away and there's a nice park across the street too to spend time in when the weather is good, which is was when we were there.||We came for a football tournament, so there was a group of 36 of us at the peak.||The hiccups....|Only 2 staff workers speak English well. There were a lot of miscommunications. The Breakfast was kind of a hassle because they make you pay at the front first instead of billing it to your room. Plus the food served is the same every day. The breakfast "welcome" host probably should be switched because she comes off a bit rude.||There is no water filling stations anywhere in the hotel. They will fill your water from the tap if you ask.||The rooms are TINY. The hotel only had 2 extra blankets (we used the chair as a bed), so when we got these blankets, the rest of the families had to use bathrobes. They also didn't have any extra pillows, which is kind of odd too.||They also were really strict with our group in the lounge. They basically told us we had to leave because we were being too loud and some of the other customers were "complaining", but this is a lounge common space and we were a large group/team. There should be more understanding in making us feel welcome.||The shampoo smelled like rubbing alcohol, so we didn't use it.||The coffee machine with complimentary coffee was "out of order" for our entire stay. The complimentary one cup of wine was also "out of service." The coffee was a perk that we intentionally wanted for our hotel.||HIGHLIGHT|Kawmini! She was able to help us get reservations for 22 people for 2 nights of our trip when the other staff people couldn't understand what we needed or didn't want to help us .||Overall, I would recommend this place, but make sure that you plan accordingly for bed space.||Thanks for an...

A great hotel to stay at, especially if you're looking for a hands-off experience. It's got a lot of modern touches and attention to detail (including glasses that have a cutout in the bottom rim for you pinky, hah!). You also get a good wonderful Japanese style bath experience with a separate shower and tub...in a different room than the toilet. Trust me, this is very useful when traveling with another. Honestly though, the best thing about this place is the LG Styler they have installed...it's like a miracle fridge for your clothes. Put a few articles in there and you can steam them, press them, refresh them (works better than febreez, especially since shirts and socks come out fluffy and soft!), or even sanitize them. It's well worth the space it was given and more.

The other great thing about this hotel is it's location, you're right off a main shopping drag in central Nagoya, surrounded by high-end department stores, specialty restaurants, and glittery lights galore. There's also easy access to Sakae Chika (the Sakae subway station)... but being down a side street a few steps means you won't hear any of the noise from all this. I should also point out that the blackout curtains work wonders at keeping the early morning sun out! And if you go the other direction you can find a quiet walk past a few parks, many temples and shrines, and the Osu district (including indie stores and the famous Shotengai).

The only thing catch is don't expect much involvement with the staff. This place feels more like minimally staffed hotel with very friendly service that you have to go to the check-in counter to get. Also, despite what the website says, English-speaking can be hit or miss depending who you get that day, so have a little basic Japanese and Google translate ready and you're good to go. Besides, you didn't come here to lounge around, and this hotel knows it. Sleep comfy here during the night, go out and enjoy Nagoya...

The hotel is in a very convenient spot—close to shops (parco, yodobashi and don qui) restaurants, and transport links—which made getting around a breeze. Now to the customer service...this specific staff member already had a bad attitude when they began serving me and they tried to charge me for accommodation even though I have already paid. I showed them my receipt and when they rechecked, it was ok. I found it strange that they assumed i haven't paid but when they re-checked it was ok. I paid for this accommodation a few months ago. The next encounter i had with this same staff, they were still rude (not just once off) when I tried to explain to them that I dont have my room keys on me and I need an additional key to get into the room to check if the keys are in the room. The staff kept accusing me of losing the keys and that I better bring 4 keys down when I check out. Now at this moment I dont know if I have lost them or not but the attitude of this staff member is condescending and very rude. Once they provide me with an additional 2 keys, I went up stairs found the 2 old keys and went back downstairs to return them. No doubt if i deal with this staff when I check out there will be some other problem. The reception staff are the face of the organisation. Why would you employ staff with bad attitude? I stayed in the deluxe twin room and the water temp is not consistent. When having a shower the temp would go to cold then go back to the original temp after a few minutes. This will constantly happen every few minutes. There is also unknown stains on the shower head giving the impression that the hotel doesn't really get cleaned. Also look at the fitted sheet...it looks like its got some type of stain (hoping its not blood). Definitely the worse hotel I've stayed at in Japan.

Hotel Forza Nagoya Sakae is located in a street off the busy Sakae shopping area. An excellent location for tourists, Matsuzakaya, Parco and many other shops/malls are located within a 5 to 10-minute walk. Osu is also a 15-minute walk away from the hotel. There is plenty of good food around and Sakae station is 10 minutes away. For those driving, there is a big car park behind and small car park beside the hotel. The check-in process was fast with a machine dispensing the key card and hotel reception staff assisting. The staff was also very helpful in helping me to find clinics and call them when my child was unwell. We also had a broken towel rack and the staff was prompt in coming up to repair it. When the rack could not be repaired, they offered to change rooms for us but we declined as it was too troublesome packing and moving. Housekeeping staff was also polite and did a good job making up the room each day. We booked a triple room for our family of 2 adults and 2 children (5 YO and 9 YO). Room was cozy with sufficient space to open two large suitcases. We were a bit disappointed with the size though as the rooms looked bigger from the pictures. The room had blackout blinds which were great as it gets bright quite early and we were able to sleep in without the sun shining brightly into the room. As mentioned in other reviews, my husband smelled a musty smell upon entering the room but I did not so I guess it really depends on how sensitive one is to smell. The room is quite dusty though and unfortunately, we had a towel with a stain on it (not sure what the stain was). If you’re able to overlook the musty smell and cleanliness issue, this hotel is ideal for those who want to shop and eat in Nagoya!
