二荒山神社中宮祠 宝物館 — Attraction in Nikko

中禅寺湖のほとりにある二荒山神社中宮祠の宝物館。この神社が男体山の登山口になっているため、この神社だけでなく男体山にまつわる様々な品が展示されている。 宝物館というからにはこの神社に奉納された宝物が多く展示されていると思われるが、どちらかと言えば男体山（特に山頂）から発掘された品が多く展示されている。1000年以上前の銅銭や修験に利用された道具に至るまで様々であるため、宝物館というより史料館に近い。他にも、男体山や中禅寺湖界隈でよく見られる動物の剥製や、この神社に奉納された刀や薙刀が数多く展示されている。 1階と2階の2階構成であるが、2階への昇降は階段のみである。宝物館への道も舗装されていないため、車椅子等の障碍を持つ方は利用しづらいと感じるかもしれない。

This is the treasure museum of the Chugu Shrine of Futarasan Shrine, located on the shores of Lake Chuzenji. Since this shrine is the starting point of the Mt.Nantai trail, various items related to not only the shrine but also to Mt.Nantai. It's more like a historical archive than a treasure museum, as the exhibits range from copper coins from over 1000 years ago to tools used for ascetic practices. Other exhibits include stuffed animals commonly seen around Mt.Nantai and Lake Chuzenji, and many swords and naginatas dedicated to the shrine. The museum consists of two floors, the first and second, but the only way to get up and down to the second floor is by stairs. The path to the treasure museum is not paved, so visitors with disabilities such as wheelchairs may find it...
