Ogimachi Castle Ruins (荻町城跡) is a hilltop viewpoint overlooking the village of Shirakawa-go. Although the original castle no longer exists, the site offers one of the best panoramic views of the traditional gassho-zukuri houses spread across the valley. To get there, you can either walk up from the village (about 15–20 minutes uphill) or take a short shuttle ride.

We couldn’t find any ruins which was a bit disappointing, but the view from the top overlooking Shirakawago was very nice and impressive :) I still recommend walking up just...
