I recently had the pleasure of staying at Koshiyama Guesthouse in Shirakawago, and it was an unforgettable experience. Sada, Yuka, and Lin from Koshiyama went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home from the moment I arrived.
The guesthouse itself is cozy and welcoming, providing all the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay. They also sell amazing souvenirs like Sarubobo, a symbol of good luck and happiness, which will forever remind me of the charm of Shirakawago and the kindness of its people.
Throughout my three-day stay, Sada, Yuka, and Lin ensured that I had everything I needed and more. I highly recommend Koshiyama Guesthouse to anyone visiting Shirakawago. Also their restaurant has different delacies with local dishes like for example Hida beef (shown in the picture).

A special thanks to the owner (I forgot to get his name) for going above and beyond to ensure I felt comfortable. He allowed me to utilize one of the bicycles at the inn. The location on google maps appears to be 90% accurate. Make sure you keep walking until you see the sign for "Koshiyama." Read moreA wonderful inn close to the main village. The rooms are in the traditional Japanese style, with tatami mats and beds. It was a very cozy atmosphere that matched the overall vibes of Shirakawago.
The Koshiyama staff and owner and very helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to interact with us, despite our limited Japanese. The owner doesn’t speak English, but he used translator apps and we had no problem understanding him. Really appreciate the effort, it was very sweet of him.
