Check in took a loooong time on our second stay. Tired after all the walking and hauling luggage with a baby carrier through the subway, shinkansen, and a taxi (almost 5 hours from Osaka), my 2 kids and toddler grandkid arrived to a new check in system in place that should have taken a few moments to complete but almost ended in an altercation with front desk. ||I had booked 3 rooms for my family (my kids and grandkids, a total of 12 in all). We stayed here for 3 nights at first, then went to Osaka, then came back. My group arrived ahead for our 2nd time. ||The older English speaking male receptionist first said that all of us in the booking had to present our passports before my group could be checked in (which was impossible at that time since 4 were in Disney, and the other 4 were still on their way to the hotel).||Then he took some time to find my name in the paper and screen shots I presented. When he found it, he said I could not be checked in yet. According to him, I was listed as guest and it was my daughter who was the main booker. ||What? I was the one who made the booking and merely placed my daughter’s name as the occupant of the first room. ||Good thing she arrived after a while; at that point I was seriously considering transferring to a different hotel with a better receptionist. ||I insisted on showing him the Booking.com email addressed to me and the app in my phone. He said he did not know why it happened that I was listed as guest. ||Isn’t everyone who reserves a room through a booking app a guest of the hotel?||Except for this check-in, I would say Comfort Hotel Higashi-Kanda is clean, comfortable, conveniently located (5 to 8 minutes walk to the metro or subway). Many restaurants and convenience stores are in the area. There is free breakfast and luggage storage. ||Stubbed my toe a couple of times. There is little space between the beds and the desks.||The other staff were helpful and friendly.
