Don Quijote Ikebukuroeki Nishiguchi — Attraction in Tokyo

I am absolutely appalled by my recent shopping experience at this place. Having shopped here back in May 2024, I was excited to return, but what a huge disappointment! The entire atmosphere has changed for the worse, primarily because the staff has been replaced by Nepali workers, and the customer service has plummeted.

The staff at the tax-free counter were particularly terrible – rude, unhelpful, and downright aggressive. I’ve never encountered such a lack of professionalism and courtesy in my life. They seemed irritated by simple questions and made me feel like I was a burden just by being there. It was completely shocking compared to my last visit, when the staff were friendly, attentive, and made the shopping experience enjoyable.

Lots of cosmetics and Kawaii goods such as Sanrio characters goods in affordable price.

There are 2 Don Don Donki shops around Ikebukuro Station. The one is near East exit from the station. The other one is near West exit from the station. Both are large size of Donki shops. But the floor of the west side one is larger and less customers than the other. The reason of less customers is that it takes 3-5 minutes to arrive there. The east one is closer to the station. Get scammed by the staff.

I bought 6 items in the shop on 15/Oct/2023 for tax free items but been scammed and paid for 7 items with additional JPY 248 that I does not exist in my basket. I knew is my fault that I did not check before payment but this is disgusted to charging customer extra intentionally. The tax free counter queue is also a joke where we are waited around 4 mins but someone cut queue and the staff served them 1st without looking at the actual queue.
