JCII Camera Museum — Attraction in Tokyo

I was here in 2007! Being a bit of a shutter bug, I thought when in Rome, etc. The Museum was slightly difficult to find as it is located in a basement and not well sign posted. Once inside, there is a variety of cameras from yester year to the modern age. At the time of my visit, there was a stripped down Canon 300D on display, which was proof positive that the modern digital camera is a computer rather than a Box Brownie. There is also the precursor to the modern memory card, the three and half inch floppy disc. Imagine wondering around with a three and half floppy in your pocket instead of a SD card? However, what was the greatest irony of the visit? You aren't allowed to take photos...

Very cool collection of old cameras, and I spent nearly an hour looking over everything. Virtually every camera you’ve ever owned is probably here in some form! Agreed with the other reviewers that prohibiting photos here is a little ironic, and probably affected my enjoyment a little bit. There was so much I wanted to capture...
