I had two major issues. The first is I checked my bag at noon, and I went back to access it at 1pm. When I checked in at 3pm, I handed them my bag check ticket and said I would like to get my bag. I speak enough Japanese to say you have my bag and first want my bag. They kept trying to get me to check in, and I kept saying after, first I want my bag. They kept the claim ticket in their hands and just wouldn't get it for me. Finally someone spoke English asked for my passport. I said no I want my bag now and had to say now again. My passport was in my bag.||Next, they have an incredibly stupid ac/heating system, and the first person to turn on the system controls it for all the rooms for a section of the floor. You have no control at all. At first I thought they said I cannot turn on AC, but ok, I'll turn down the temperature so that heat does not blow. I was in shorts and a t-shirt and nearly sweating, no way I could sleep. I couldn't even turn down the temperature for my room, someone else controlled it until they left their room and relinquished control.||The least of my concern was there was trash on the...
Read moreI recently stayed at APA Hotel Hanzomon Hirakawacho with sister, and while the location and standard room were satisfactory, our experience with the amenities left something to be desired.
The hotel is conveniently situated near two subway train lines, making it an excellent choice for exploring the city. The standard room, typical for hotels in Japan, provided a comfortable stay for two people. However, the amenities situation was less than ideal.
Despite booking for two occupants, the amenities provided in the room were only sufficient for one person. This meant that throughout our stay, we had to constantly call or go down to the front desk to request an additional amenities kit for the second person. While the staff was understanding and responsive, the recurring need for extra amenities became inconvenient and disrupted our stay.
Regrettably, despite multiple interactions with the staff, the problem was not entirely resolved, and the inconvenience persisted. It would have been preferable if the room had been prepared for the number of guests booked, eliminating the need for continuous requests for...
Read moreI was a little weary about this hotel after all the bad reviews. But from my experience I can say that this hotel is a perfect Tokyo hotel. Yes the rooms are small but it's Tokyo, space is at a premium. If you have been to other Asian super city's you would know this is actually a a normal room. Yes the AC wasn't on but it's also an Eco hotel so all I did was called down and asked for them to turn it on. Not a problem at all. The hotel is clean and quiet. Some people complained about the smell of smoke in there room. Didn't have that at all as we were on a non-smoking floor. The location is perfect, two different subway lines within a 5 minute walk plus lots of cafes and restaurants as well. The staff were super helpful. Yes the pillows were a little flat but this hotel is geared toward the Japanese business man and the pillows were very traditional. If you are coming to Tokyo looking at budget hotels and expecting Western rooms you will be in for a surprise. This place was awesome for my Wife and I with two bigger bags, you just have to...
