Pelican Fountains — Attraction in Tokyo

The agave lily (ryūzetsuran) has bloomed in Hibiya Park!

The agave lily is said to bloom only once every few decades. This rare flower can be seen in Hibiya Park in central Tokyo. This time, the flower that bloomed is a blue rhododendron located beside the Pelican Fountain in Hibiya Park's First Flower Garden.

Flowering was confirmed on July 10, and its height was measured on the following day, July 11, at 7.7 meters.

We began measuring its height in mid-May, and at the beginning of the measurement, it was growing about 10 cm per day, but just before flowering, the growth almost stopped.

The delicate yellow flowers have begun to bloom in order from the buds at the bottom, and as of July 11, approximately 20% of the total flowers have bloomed. The upper buds are expected to continue blooming for about a month, so please take this opportunity to visit...

日比谷公園内第一花壇の近くに設置されているペリカンの形をした噴水です。

2羽のペリカンが向かい合って口から水を出しています。噴水と呼ぶには少し水の勢いが弱いと感じます。手水舎に設置された龍よりは勢いがある感じです。噴水の実際の様子は動画にて確認してみて下さい。
