On our return trip from Osaka to Tokyo, to catch our return flight to New Delhi, we stayed for a night in The Celestine Tokyo Shiba hotel. Since we had some free time in the evening, checked with the hotel for s good park nearby and the reception staff informed us about this beautiful park, just 15 minutes by walk from the hotel. The weather was perfect for an evening stroll with cool breeze and the blooming flowers and we'll manicured bushes. The roads are so clean, the trees look so fresh with clean shiny green leaves and the flowers were at their full bloom. I think Tokyo must one of the top most pedestrian-friendly cities in the world. Tokyo's commitment to cleanliness and order is indeed remarkable, reflecting a broader cultural respect for harmony and aesthetic appreciation. The meticulous maintenance of public spaces, This showcases the city's dedication to providing a pleasant environment for both residents and visitors. This attention to detail extends to the city's infrastructure, where even late in the day, the absence of litter and the pristine condition of public areas stand out. It's a collective effort that involves not only the diligent work of municipal workers but also the civic-mindedness of the citizens, who take pride in their city's appearance and contribute to its upkeep. Tokyo's example of urban cleanliness and design serves as an inspiration for cities worldwide, demonstrating the positive impact of a community working in unison towards a shared goal of environmental beauty and sustainability. Coming to the park, the landscaping is so perfectly done. Good walking space around, perfect spots for family picnic and playground for children. A highly recommended park for visitors to Shiba...

It's nicely kept, and if Pet owners keep their animals under control it's a good place to relax.
Disabled access is good for those in a Wheelchair, the slope up is not too steep, and there's an elevator down to the main Shiba Park.
The Hotel does a great job in keeping the plants in good order, so please appreciate that, don't disturb them for the benefit of others to appreciate.
On the downside, the access road between the hotel and the Temple is poorly maintained, to the point of being dangerous to Cyclists, and Pedestrians alike - especially if a fast moving car kicks up a stone from one of its road holes and hits a person in the face. (Many fast cars frequent this place...), similarly the entrance road mirrors only partially help you see traffic in front of your exit. There should be one either side of the road - particularly at the Shiba park exit.
I'm dropping my star recommendation to 2 - since, should such an accident happen to anyone, given that these issues have been raised publicly, then the Hotel is clearly negligent and should be shut down with it's management held to account - i.e. imprisoned / fined, and forced to pay compensation.
So I would recommend, fixing these problems and becoming a safer place...
Read moreThe view of Tokyo Tower is beautiful, especially during sunset though the sun is hiding behind the skyscraper. I went there for the third time yesterday (Sep 3) and found out the grass is under maintenance so I headed to the Shiba Park down a stair. Yet the grass there is burnt brown which made me understand why the grass field in Prince Shiba Park always remains green. The view from Shiba Park is not as great as that from Prince Shiba Park as you guys can see from the photo (the scale of Tokyo Tower). There is no information about when the...
