On a prominent hill behind the National Gallery of Canada is Nepean Point. Here you will find spectacular views of the Ottawa River, the Parliament buildings, major hills park and of Gatineau's waterfront. One of the most popular attractions is the statue of Samuel de Champlain explorer, cartographer, diplomat, and known to be the Father of New France, including; founder of Quebec City, part of the Great Lakes and Saint John New Bruinswick to mention just a few locations. but due to construction, (or maybe Champlain didnt want to catch covid, lol) Champlain's statue has been removed. I believe the construction is part of a renovation to the point to make it more wheelchair accessible. Despite the construction I still recommend you coming to Nepean Point for the slightly obstructed view and to look at; the 100 ft long stainless steel art work of a tree without branches by artist Roxie Paine. I find it is necessary to view this odd looking statue's long length up close to appreciate it more than just seeing it as a long metal thing out of the ground from a distance. There are also some large granite rocks that have had arabesques decorative engraving sandblasted into its stone. This land art was created by Bill Varzan and it reminds me of indigenous people's earth story petroglyphs found all over the world. Nepean Point is very close to Majors Hill Park, so why not check it out. If you like my review, please give it a thumbs up. Thanks.

Beautiful place, beautiful atmosphere, a very nice place for a walk with mates or family. The bridge, the Parliament and the view point all are in a walkable distance and they are also few museums around.! You can spend some quality time with others. Worth visiting.

Amazing view. I visit here frequently. It's a bit chilly up here so always carry a jacket. You get a good view of Alexander bridge, Parliament hill, and skyline of Gatineau park. It's feels calm and serene up here. A must visit place of you are in Ottawa.
