A bizarre sight to see, so far from “home”, but a worthwhile pit-stop for Americans traveling in Pristina. “Slick Willie” is widely revered here, & Americans in general are held in pretty high regard, as the U.S. (thru NATO, & later the UN) helped Kosovo to gain its independence.
This statue, incidentally located on a major street named for Clinton as well, is just one of many nods to our former Prez in the city.
It’s interesting speaking with Kosovars, where they seem to know more about United States politics than the average American does, heh.
It’s only been a little over 20 years since the war (1999), so these wounds & memories are still fresh for many citizens here.
