I recently had the pleasure of dining at Japanos in Prishtina, a restaurant that promises to bring the flavors of Japan to Kosovo. As a fan of Japanese cuisine, I was eager to try their sushi, ramen, and noodles. Here’s my detailed review of the experience.
Ambiance: The atmosphere at Japanos is modern and inviting. The minimalist decor with subtle Japanese elements creates a serene and pleasant dining environment. Soft lighting and comfortable seating add to the overall cozy feel. It’s an excellent spot for both casual dining and special occasions.
Service: The service at Japanos is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They are quick to offer recommendations and ensure that your dining experience is smooth and enjoyable. The wait time for food was reasonable, and the staff frequently checked in to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Food:
• Sushi: The sushi at Japanos is fresh and expertly prepared. The fish is of high quality, and the rolls are well-balanced in terms of flavor and texture. The variety on offer is impressive, catering to both traditionalists and those looking for more creative rolls. Standouts included the classic tuna and salmon nigiri, as well as the more inventive dragon roll. • Ramen: The ramen is hearty and comforting, perfect for a cool day. The broth is rich and flavorful, simmered to perfection. The noodles have a nice bite, and the toppings, including tender slices of pork, fresh vegetables, and a perfectly cooked egg, come together to create a satisfying bowl of goodness. • Noodles: The noodle dishes at Japanos are another highlight. Whether stir-fried or served in broth, the noodles are cooked just right, maintaining a firm yet tender texture. The flavors are bold and well-balanced, making each bite a delight. The yakisoba and udon noodles come highly recommended.
Overall Experience: Japanos in Prishtina delivers an authentic taste of Japan with its high-quality sushi, ramen, and noodles. The combination of excellent service, a pleasant ambiance, and delicious food makes it a must-visit for anyone craving Japanese cuisine. While it might not be the cheapest option in town, the experience and quality of food justify the price. I look forward to returning and trying more...
Read moreAvoid and never go there! We waited for our order more than half an hour, even though the place was empty. That included waiting for water and starters. We got all at once (water, starters and main dishes), while tempura seafood was raw, one out of 2 main dishes was wrong. Cutlery was all dirty and oily as on photo attached. Service is terrible, waiter was annoyed when we said we didn’t order dish he brought us and when we canceled the order (after seeing dirty cutlery and trying raw food), he didn’t even apologise but he tried also the charge us additional 7.9eur for dish we never order. From his approach, obviously this restaurant considers its fine to let you wait for drinks and food, to serve you uncooked food and charge you for something you don’t even order. Recommendation: fully avoid, if you take a risk and go there-check your bill at the end. Btw, while waiting to order, we also saw the guy complaining about the bill and being charged for something he didn’t have, so seems like thats...
Read moreI recently visited Japanos and had a varied dining experience. The ambiance was pleasant, and the service was prompt and friendly. However, the food left me with mixed feelings.
The sushi was undoubtedly the highlight of the meal. The sushi rolls were well-crafted with a good balance of flavors.
On the other hand, I found the ramen and edamame disappointing. The ramen broth lacked depth and tasted rather bland, failing to meet the expected standard of a flavorful bowl of noodles. The spicy edamame, while usually a simple and enjoyable appetizer, was seasoned with some red pepper and lacked flavor.
Overall, while I enjoyed the sushi and appreciated the restaurant’s atmosphere and service, the quality of the ramen and edamame left much to be desired. If you’re planning to visit, I would recommend sticking to their sushi offerings, which seem to be...
