Tourists, beware! You WILL be overcharged.
I have eaten here five times, and they have tried to charge me extra on three occasions. The last time I was there, they thought I was a local. Once they realized I was a foreigner, they alerted each other in Turkish when I handed over the cash.
They don’t have a system for writing down your order. When you go to the cashier, your server follows you and “calculates” your total on a piece of paper. When you correct their mistake, they apologize “profusely.” This issue occurred with multiple servers, indicating it’s a company culture.
The reason I tolerated this behavior is that I missed Turkish food a lot, and they make the best döner in the Balkans. They use authentic lavash (wrap bread), not some mass-produced taco tortillas. Their sauce is also great; I could eat it every day.
The lahmacun itself is good, but they don’t serve it with tomatoes and lettuce, making it dry. The pide is great if it isn’t overcooked. They don’t always clean the tables after each customer. They close at 6 PM. It gets very busy until closing time.
