🇹🇭Must-do activity in Thailand ⬇️ 🏝️ Visiting the Phi Phi Islands during your trip to Thailand is a MUST, and one of the best ways to see them is booking a private Longtail boat tour with @boatandbeyond - this was one of my favourite days during my trip to Thailand! It’s no surprise that the Phi Phi Islands, especially Maya Bay, gets extremely crowded. It’s very much an “instagram versus reality” situation due to the hoards of people who visit each day, though who can blame them? The crystal-clear turqouise waters are even more beautiful in person than the photos and videos you see online. HOWEVER, if you want a relaxing experience when visiting here famous islands, I can’t recommend Boat & Beyond enough. You can book your own private traditional Longtail boat, with full day tours available departing from either Phuket or Krabi. During your tour you will visit all the best spots, including: Phi Phi Island (Phi Phi Don), Maya Bay, Loh Samah Bay, Phi Leh Lagoon, Monkey Beach & Viking Cave. What makes the @boatandbeyond tours special is their attentional to detail. A full day tour includes a special picnic lunch set up for you on the beach with postcard-worthy views. As well as a constant stream of ice cold drinks & flowing Prosecco, you will also enjoy an elaborate afternoon tea served on board as you make your way back to the pier. The boats are fully equipped with everything you need for an amazing day out - including towels, a bluetooth speaker, power banks to charge your phone, masks & snorkels & plenty more. The long tail boats can fit up to 8 adults, for a full day tour from Krabi, prices are around approx £60 per person with food & drinks included. #thailandtravel #thailandinsider #travelthailand #visitthailand #phiphiislands #mayabay Phi Phi Islands Thailand | Phi Phi Islands Tour | Phi Phi Islands Boat Tour | Places to visit in Thailand | Best Things to do in Thailand | Tourist attractions in Thailand | Must do in Thailand | What to do in Thailand | Tourist spots Thailand | Thailand Attractions | Thailand must see | Things to do in Phuket | Things to do in Krabi

A paradise in Thailand 🇹🇭 Follow @thatworldtravelfamily for travel tips and content ✨ Phi Phi Itinerary with Kids: Day 1: arrive on the island, explore the town and stop off for some dinner. We arrived on a Friday so we managed to watch a fire show on the beach 🏝️ Day 2: Maya Bay tour - visit the beautiful an iconic beach that features in the Leonardo film ‘The Beach’ (closing August 1st 2023 for preservation) Day 3: Start the day with breakfast and a pool day, our hotel had monkeys who walked along the upper deck of the pool 🐒 followed by an afternoon and evening at Loh Dalum Beach. Lots of food spots to have Thai or western food 🥘 Day 4: Leaving day! We started with breakfast by the beach, played, swam and enjoyed some Nutella crepes at ‘Baan Donut’ before heading for our ferry, loaded with snacks. Have you visited this bucketlist island yet? 😍🌴 #mayabay #thailand #mayabaybeach #thebeach #tourismthailand #visitthailand #explorethailand #discoverthailand #bucketlistdestination #phiphiisland #phiphi #islandsofadventure #thaiislands #thailandismagic #thailandtravelguide #traveltips #travelingwithkids #thailandwithkids #asiawithkids #backpackingwithkids #explore #travelingfamily #childhoodmemories #makingmemoriestogether #siblinglove #worldschoolfamily #childrenoftheworld #worldtraveler #kohphiphi

Update: If you swim to the outermost point where the cliff turns, there are some gigantic corals and so so many different colors of corals and marine life. I have never seen anything like it! It was a little scary for me (I’m a scaredy cat) but if you’re at the point where you can see the other beach around the cliff, right next to the rocks are some of the most beautiful snorkeling spots. The reefs were just story after story of coral and fish! It was like a huge city!! My husband swam to shark point and this area and he said this place is even better! Coral trees 20 feet tall. You can walk out onto the sand bar during low tide and swim from there to make it easier on yourself! Otherwise you’ll have to swim all the way along the rocky shore and it is quite a swim out and back. Nobody mentions it but there are some beautiful snorkeling spots at this beach. You’ll have to swim a little bit during high tide to get out to where the water doesn’t disappear during low tide. That’s where all the beautiful coral and fish are! We saw some amazing fish and a lot of spiky sea urchin! During low tide, it’s fun to walk out to the corals and them swim around. The big reefs have so much marine life!

Loh Dalum Beach is a beautiful, crescent-shaped spot on Ko Phi Phi Don, with soft white sand and clear turquoise waters. It’s got that postcard-perfect look and a super relaxed vibe—perfect for lounging, swimming, or just soaking in the view. That said, the experience can really depend on the time of day. During low tide, the water is only knee-deep and can get a bit murky—not ideal for swimming. But come high tide, especially around 3 PM, the water is perfect for a dip. It does get pretty crowded during the day with day-trip tourists, and at night, the beach bars crank up the music—so it’s not the quietest place after dark. Still, it’s got everything you need: clean beaches, crystal-clear water (at the right tide), and lots of options for activities like kayaking or paddle boarding. Monkey Beach is just a 10–20 minute kayak ride away, which makes for a fun little adventure. Midday can be scorching, so grabbing a shady spot or heading out on the water is a good move. All in all, it’s a lively and beautiful beach—great if you’re looking for a mix of chill time and action, just be ready for the crowds and the nightlife buzz.

A huge disappointment. I had high hopes for Koh Phi Phi, as it’s often associated with the postcard-perfect images people bring back or send from Thailand. I was especially excited to see the beautiful beaches I had seen elsewhere in Thailand, but I expected something truly exceptional here. And it was exceptional—but as a disappointment. The beach is completely littered, with no one taking care of it or cleaning it up. It’s impossible to spend time there; the entire beach is lined with bars and pubs blaring loud music, so forget any hope of relaxation. It’s truly shameful that local businesses and people have ruined this piece of nature to the point where visiting it simply highlights how much people can destroy a place. Unfortunately, during my time in Thailand, I’ve often noticed that public spaces like this beach are neglected by locals if there’s no business incentive to keep them clean, and this beach is a prime example of that. Very sad, and I hope anyone planning to visit this island for its scenic views reads my review or others like it and reconsiders, because besides parties, this island has nothing else to offer.

Not the most beautiful beach on Koh Phi Phi islands but still very nice. The sand is mostly white and soft. They rent kayaks here. It's a short walk from the Tonsai pier. There were hardly any people on the beach (possibly since I was there in July which is considered a low season in Thailand), although there were quite a lot of people around the Tonsai pier so maybe people just go to other beaches on the islands. A tip: If you're at the pier waiting for a connection and have a ton of luggage and don't want to drag it with you but want to take a short swim at this beach, leave your luggage at the pier (at the entrance) with the pier guys. There's a place that has cameras so it seems secure enough. They'll ask you for 50 baht (probably negotiable as most prices in Thailand, I didn't bother and just paid it, it was totally worth not dragging my luggage around).
