Pirates House Restaurant and Bar - Phi Phi Island — Restaurant in Ko Phi Phi Don

I’ve already shared my review as I rated them one star whereas wanted to rate zero. I would like to add the information that, their curry doesn’t have the authentic Thai taste. It’s plain and basic. Rather most of the other restaurants have Thai authentic curries.

As we went there for dinner at 11.30pm, they said they close at midnight so they were in rush. But we never even requested them to take order. We asked them whether we may eat here? They nicely agreed to our food choices and let us sit. After placing order, they were rushing over my head to make me finish my meal and leave within seconds as if we forced or requested them to let us eat here! At 12am, there are plenty of other options for people to eat and we know about that!

It was bizarre to experience such behaviour as a customer. In service business, behaviour can create magic and miracles! Remember that!

Food: okayish- 5/10. I was happy to see a mussel in my seafood curry

Atmosphere: 0/10. Because of their behaviour and they roam around and keep staring at Asians like we are aliens

Recommended: Never! Don’t waste your valuable money here. Phi phi has lots of other options! I stayed 3 nights and 4days and tried multiple restaurants, everyone was so welcoming and greeted us with a smile! Avoid Pirates House – A Tourist Scam with Terrible Food

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Pirates House that I feel compelled to warn others about. At the end of our meal, the waitress brought a set of shots to our table. Given the context, it was obvious that any customer would assume they were complimentary digestifs. My friends and I took them, only for the waitress to return shortly after, demanding payment and claiming she had “made a mistake.”

When we asked for the bill, she refused to show it to us and instead just typed a number into a calculator, which was absurdly high. This alone was already suspicious, but what followed made it clear this was a deliberate scam.

We spoke to the owner/cashier, and he turned out to be incredibly rude, aggressive, and clearly in on the scam. Before we even explained the issue, he already seemed to know exactly what had happened—a clear sign that this is something they do regularly to unsuspecting customers.

To make matters worse, the food was terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—save your money and avoid dealing with dishonest and ill-mannered staff.
