While exploring Penang Hill, we came across Masjid Bukit Bendera—a modest-sized mosque tucked quietly amid the greenery. What made this visit memorable wasn’t the structure itself, but the incredible warmth and hospitality we received.

As we were standing outside, a friendly Malay gentleman approached and warmly invited us to take a look inside. He kindly explained that visitors are welcome, as long as proper attire is worn. Robes were conveniently provided right outside—easy to slip on over our clothes. For ladies, the robe came with a hood to maintain modesty.

Once inside, another kind man took the time to share with us the layout and features of the mosque, making the experience even more enriching.
