Our visit to Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast turned out to be better than expected, making for a fun-filled day with the family. The park, while bustling with visitors, maintains a clean and well-kept environment, which is a pleasant surprise given the large crowds. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the park prioritizes cleanliness, which adds to the overall enjoyment of the experience.
While the park was crowded, particularly during peak hours, we found that the facilities were well-maintained and the attractions lived up to the hype. The one area that could use some improvement is the management of the queues. At times, the lines for the more popular rides were quite long, and better organization or additional staff to manage the flow of people would enhance the experience. Despite this, the overall vibe of the park was lively and fun, making it a great destination for families looking to enjoy a day of water-based activities.
For those planning a visit, I highly recommend staying at the Hard Rock Hotel Desaru. The convenience of being able to access the waterpark directly from the hotel is unbeatable, especially when traveling with children. It allows for easy transitions between the hotel and the park, making the entire experience more seamless and stress-free.
One attraction that you absolutely must try when visiting Adventure Waterpark is the Surf Simulator. This unique feature offers an exhilarating experience that’s both challenging and fun, whether you’re a seasoned surfer or a beginner looking to try something new. It’s definitely one of the highlights of the park and a must-do for anyone visiting.
In summary, Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast exceeded our expectations, offering a clean and enjoyable environment for a day of family fun. While the park can get crowded, especially on weekends, the overall experience is worth it. The proximity to Hard Rock Hotel Desaru adds a level of convenience that makes the trip even more enjoyable. And don’t miss out on the Surf Simulator – it’s a thrilling experience that’s sure to be a highlight...
Read morePositives: Cleanliness and Space The park is well-maintained and generally clean, including the toilet and shower areas. There is ample space for visitors to sit, making it easy to find a spot to unwind.
Facilities The number of rides is decent, though not extensive. It provides enough variety for a few hours of entertainment.
Areas for Improvement: Food Options Outside food is not allowed. However, the food options available within the park are extremely limited. Expanding the food choices would greatly enhance the visitor experience.
Signage and Instructions: The signage and instructions throughout the park are either unclear or not prominently displayed leading to confusion among visitors.
Customer Service There were unfortunate encounters with rude lifeguards. One incident involved a family with slightly older children wanting to take a float ride at the kids zone. The lifeguard's response was unnecessarily condescending, asking, "You know what is adult and what is children, right?" This could have been handled with more courtesy. Side note: The children of that family were not adult children. The lifeguard did allow similar age children to go on the ride. Another encounter at the surf wall area involved a lifeguard directing me out of an unmarked out-of-bounds area in a frustrated tone. Proper barricading and clearer instructions would prevent such misunderstandings. That tone of communication is uncalled for in service line.
Crowd Control: The lazy river experience was chaotic due to a lack of crowd control and an insufficient number of usable floats. People were seen grabbing floats from others before they had a chance to get off, and many visitors resorted to walking in the river due to the shortage of floats. This attraction needs better management to ensure a more enjoyable and...
Read moreWe have visited this 1-2x a year for the past 3 years. While we really enjoyed the park initially, the park is showing signs of wear and tear, seems that management has not invested into maintenance.
To give a few example -the beach area used to have loungers that were free for use, these have been removed, ostensibly to compel people to rent cabanas for a fee (understandable from management perspective)
Other incidents that detract from the overall experience -the wave pool hardly has any waves, it is a gentle sway at best. We asked the staff, and they said the pump spoilt, no idea when it was being repaired -kraken’s revenge (the coaster ride), was closed for maintenance - this was a weekend so the crowd diverted to the adult slides which had long lines -for the adult slides (riptide and tempest) - the speed of the lines were limited by the number of floats (counted maybe 4?) and the mechanical system to get the floats up seem faulty as well (we saw the floats getting stuck) -paddle boats for the kid’s attraction limited as well. There used to be at least 3-4, only 2 left now -body boards that children could use to go down slides also no longer there -lazy river used to have things to make the route more interesting (like jets that spray water, mists)- these are now all gone. Floats for the lazy river also alot less then before
It seems that there is simply not enough resources and care devoted to the upkeep of the park and things are just done away with as they break down.
It is a pity as we (family with young kids) really enjoy the park. But as it is, the park is suffering death by a...
