Kedidi — Restaurant in Johor

I made a reservation for my husband’s birthday and we had the most wonderful time here! TLDR — great food, ambience, and service.

Food: We were too ambitious and ordered a lot of dishes, but all of them were great :) We particularly enjoyed the ‘catch of the day’ as I don’t think I’ve seen this concept much around here, and my husband was able to select his own seafood. Sauces were very delicious — especially the Nonya and salted egg sauces. Consistent with the other reviews, the fish was perfectly grilled and the squid was deliciously fried. We focused on the food so much that we neglected our cocktails haha (though the Bangkit cocktail was a bit too sweet for my liking).

Ambience: There was 1 lonely housefly at our table which quickly disappeared once the service staff gave us an automatic fly repeller (like a fan of sorts). I honestly love this alfresco, tropical kind of vibe which looks even more beautiful in daylight! The interior looks well-designed and tables are nicely set. It feels like a hidden gem compared to the other well-known restaurants along the coast. It’s nice to have a view of the pond and greenery.

Service: Excellent! I was nervous about having to deal with bad service on a special occasion, but this was the cherry on the top. One of the service crew (pictured) was exceptionally helpful and attentive. The team went above and beyond to create a wonderful dining experience for us, and we were truly appreciative of it. We even had a free cake from them and everyone sang the birthday song!

Love the ambience of eating beside the pool and overlooking the beach. Service is great and the food is excellent. Great menu for both adults and kids. I especially love their grilled seafood selection and you can choose from a myriad of sambals and guess what.. they even have sambal tempoyak! Very good and crispy fish and chips which my kids love but i think the best was when we ordered clams while we were poolside. I wanted something like drunken clams and the chefs really excelled with the brief I gave. The clams were clean tasting and delicious. My kids and us walloped the clams in less than a minute heehee! Last week, I went to kedidi restaurant for dinner with my family. We walked in without a reservation and we're kindly informed by hostess, Wani, that it's best to book a table in advance. Still, she went out of her way to help us to get a table as soon as possible.

The food was absolutely delicious. Especially the red snapper. Which was fresh and full of flavour. The chef and the servers were also very helpful throughout our dinner.

What touched me the most was Wani warm hospitality. She keeps checking on us to make sure we were comfortable and enjoying the food. We truly felt welcomed and appreciated.
