Il try to be as subjective as possible with this,il explain as what I have experienced with my wife.
Originally, I called and booked a 2.5 hr tour for jetski as well as boat parasailing including the gopro rent. The trip started lovely,my wife & I were so excited and enjoyed it, as there was another 2 girls with us in the tour. We went for the first island where the eagle watching then again for the 2nd island where we were supposed to stay for 30mins and leave, and there where the nightmare started. Our jetski didn't start, after checking the staff found out some things stuck in the engine and the 30 minutes turned into over 4 hours wait in the heat and my wife and I got a bad sun burn, the tour staff however sent for another jetski to pickup the other girls with us in the group and left us hanging for hours, and when they finally removed the object from the engine it didn't start, what's even worst is that the dry bag they gave us to keep our staff dry like phones , wallets , selfie sticks...etc was in the jetski front compartment and while they were trying to fix the jetski up & down they opened the compartment and took our bag soaked in water to the beach & we were in shock, and when I told the staff how did that happened one of them told me "yeah because you left the bag untied" I told him we followed your instructions upon departure and tied it so how it happened? Same answer, eventhough they were opening the compartment while flipping the jetski up & down during the fixing attempt. I really didn't care about most of the stuff except my wife's phone stopped working and broke luckily my phone was water resistant Samsung s7. They suggested to take another staff's jetski to continue and it was so slow in full speed and the guy took us to a trashed beach for snorkling and he even forgot the tools,so told him nevermind just bring us back safe we are done, hungry, tired and sunburned.
Lastly, since I already paid the jetski tour cash of RM 450 I asked will there be any compensation for all this inconvenience? I asked them since we are still going to do parasailing with them so at least out of courtesy take off the RM 90 gopro rent since we are doing the RM 360 boat parasailing they said no and they kept blaiming and sending me to one another and speaking in their local language so I cancelled the parasailing and will go for other tour company to do it,,they suggested to drive me and my wife to phone shop to try to dry up the phone, for some reason the driver took us from the same pick up area kept driving and talking on the phone and got us back to the same spot which until now we don't understand why?!!!
This is my very first review on trip advisor and I hated it to be that way,but that's my experience on that day. Unfortunately, this tour company never heard of the word hospitality or customer service and with unprofessional staff. The only thing that came out of some of the staff's mouths is "Sorry Ha" Thanks but no thanks Toro watersports tours.. To clarify, this was not a last minute arrangement, it was a day ahead when I called so if they can't take tours why they agreed yo take us? Or it's just a money matter? What my wife & I had was more like a safety isssue as well.... they didn't even offer to have the videos as a good gesture, I work in the hospitality industryfor years and never been treated that way..... ADVICE FOR ALL TRAVELERES , YOU DON'T NEED TO BOOK AHEAD, IT'S ONLY A TOURIST TRAP TO TAKE AS MUCH MONEY FROM YOU AS THEY CAN, SIMPLY TAKE AN UBER OR CAB FROM YOUR HOTEL IN LANGKAWI TO CENANG MALL WHICH IS ACROSS THE BEACH AND YOU PICK THE TOUR YOU WANT AS YOU CAN GET REAL GOOD...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I did the Jet Ski 4hr VIP tour, ATV 1.5hr tour and Kayak Mangrove 4hr tour. Yes, we went a bit activity mad but after comparing the prices and duration of activities to doing them in other places around the world, we thought it would be silly to pass up such an opportunity. Toro (the Boss) and Fitri (customer support) looked after us every step of the way. Toro picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off the first 2 days and made sure we were looked after on the 3rd day with an optional stop for breakfast and coffee on the way. Fitri answered any questions we had by email within minutes. We first did the ATV tour which was a relatively easy mix of back roads and dirt tracks that would suit all ages and abilities. They also had a hard track through rivers and jungle for experienced single riders only. We ended up being the only people on the tour and our guide tailored the ride to us specifically, taking as many pictures as he could along the way! The 2nd day we did the jet ski tour and had the day to ourselves and our guide again. He was fantastic, leading the way through the islands and scaring off the monkeys for us! Our VIP option cost around an extra £20 but got us drinks, a subway sandwich each, entry fee to the first island and use of their GoPro camera. Unexpectedly, they gave us the 16GB microSD card from the GoPro with all our pics/videos on it at the end of the day! The SD card alone costs around £20 if not more in the UK so it was definitely worth getting. The tour including swimming and snorkelling on 3 different beaches/islands, one which had a small Crusoe-esque type home on it completely self sufficient in the middle of paradise. The last day we did the mangrove Kayak tour with Nizam aka Mr.Crocodile (thankfully the only crocodile in the mangroves!). Surprise surprise, we were the only ones again so had another private tour! It was pouring with rain when we woke up and we were half hoping it would be cancelled but when Nizam arrived early to collect us with a big smile, rain ponchos and the promise of coffee, we gladly went along. We proceeded to the Geoforest Park where we got kitted up and jumped in the kayaks. The mangrove labyrinth protected the waters from the sea so paddling was pretty easy. Nizam regaled us with his knowledge of the different plants and animals found in the mangroves throughout the trip and smiled throughout the 4 hour journey despite the weather! Unfortunately, we couldn't go up the smaller channels of the mangrove because of the low tide but we were quite happy in the wider channels where it's not such an issue if you can't steer very well. We saw many eagles of several different varieties as the bigger tour boats attracted them with KFC (not sure if that was a joke or not, i suppose as long as it’s not KFE it's OK!). We then stopped for lunch on a floating restaurant before heading to the bat cave (no sign of Justice League filming) and thanked the bats for eating the mosquitoes in the area that otherwise would've eaten us in the mangroves! All in all, we can definitely recommend Toro Watersports and Nizam's Crocodile Kayaking tours if you're lucky enough to be spending some time...
Read moreWe had a really bad experience with the Toro Watersports, with whom we booked an ATV tour (via Fitri). As Toro did not have space on their own tours, they booked us in with another company Ezyride. Both Toro and Ezyride have good reviews online so we were really looking forward to our tour but ended up very disappointed. The tour lasted 1 hr 10 mins (we were told it would be 1hr 30) and the ATVs broke down several times throughout so there was a lot of stopping and fixing going on. No proper helmets are provided, just bicycle style helmets which don’t have strong clasps. When I asked for a sturdier helmet, the instructor suggested I didn’t even need to wear one (?!?) but then simultaneously warned us that the path was rocky and if there was any damage to the ATV we would be expected to pay for the repair. What?!? The ATV speedometer also didn’t work, not that it mattered as they were physically incapable of going at a higher speed given how poor quality they were. There was also no explanation of any of the sites (despite the listing saying they take you through the field of burnt rice etc). Upon taking this all up with Fitri, we were met with scepticism and a lot of ‘no one else has complained and the reviews online are good’. We even sent Fitri pictures of our experience over WhatsApp but it’s clear he does not care about customer experience and is just there to make money. It’s interesting to see Fitri himself has left a positive review online regarding Ezyride. The ATV tour is not cheap and the ‘tour’ aspect is definitely mis-sold. I’d advise steering clear of both Ezyride and Toro since they clearly lack integrity and...
