Visited Muzium Sejarah Daerah Kuala Selangor and was pleasantly surprised by how much history is packed into this modest-sized museum. It gives a great overview of the district's heritage — from the Sultanate era, local rulers, early settlements, to colonial influences and important battles.

The museum is well-maintained, and the exhibits are presented in both Bahasa Malaysia and English, making it easy to follow. You’ll find old maps, artifacts, traditional weapons, and write-ups about key historical figures from the area. It's a great way to appreciate the historical significance of Kuala Selangor beyond just being a firefly destination.

The best part? It’s located near Bukit Melawati, so you can combine your visit with the lighthouse, canons, and panoramic views from the hill.

Definitely recommended for those who enjoy history, culture, or just want to learn more about the roots of Selangor. The entrance fee is RM 3 per person and it is for both museum (this one with Museum of Traditional Games), peaceful environment, and perfect for a short...

Yes the monkey is beautidful here but if you are anyway a Bugis decendant .. this is a place to go... they display the lineage and would make you understand more than the 5 daeng that we learn in history text book back in secondary school.

Most importantly i had laugh along ... not in a bad way thou just the fact to read is awesome like why bukit cheraka was named adapting form the word cilaka and the mat salleh can't pronounced it well... or how funny all the keris have lengkok but bugis yield parang panjang like a weapon... which kinda sad they didnt mention bangkung ...

It is true thou they love parang and badik .. but keris i think was later influences by riau which make it is more similar to malay keris ....

bugis and parang ... like berpisah tiada. Amusing .. and after the hot weather from the journey up.. although by train.. those aircond is a...

Bukit Melawati is the very historical place in my hometown Kuala selangor. On top the hill there is a lighthouse that giving the direction for the sea. In this hill living a big group of beautiful monkey. Other that that is a rest station for our Muslim friend to monitor their moon shape during before their New Year Hari Raya. Beside that, this place why so historical is this hill used to be the melaya royal to defence the Japanese attack. Furthermore this place also a great place to see sunset in the evening around 7pm and also night star during night time. However this place is became a casual place for the residence around to doing the exercise from young child, adult to old generation. It also became a very important tourist spot in Kuala...

We take a tram which cost RM5 for Malaysian adult and RM3 for children to the top of Bukit Melawati. We look around the hill. Not bad scenery from the top. It is cloudy day and about to rain when we enter the museum. It's free entrance. You may learn history of Kuala Selangor district. However, we have not finish tour the museum because to catch the last tram due to raining and there will be no tram going up if rains. We couldn't walk because one of our family has leg injury. So, we decided to come again later. Furthermore, one new museum exhibits traditional game will be opening soon.
