This is one of our usual seafood restaurants in Pasir Penambang, Kuala Selangor. When we came here for lunch on a weekday, we were surprised to find that they had moved next door. Since it was a weekday, there was plenty of parking, but make sure to pay as law enforcement officers were issuing summonses that day. This was our first time visiting the new location. The new place is much smaller but newly renovated, making it nicer and cleaner. They now have a proper hand washing area and the washroom is new and clean, though it had many mosquitoes and had run out of toilet paper (it would be great if they could check on this). The staff greeted us promptly and handed us the menu.
We're not sure if they still have the same chefs because the food tasted a bit different. There were some new items on the menu and some items were removed. We ordered their signature Kam Heong Mud Crab, 2 pcs (L size) for RM78.00. It was okay but not as great as before. We also tried a new item, Mantis Shrimp with Dried Fish (like Wanfa Fish Snack), for RM25 (small). This was way too sweet for our liking, so if you prefer savoury dishes, this might not be for you. We also had the Kangkung Belacan for RM12.00 (small) and it was just okay. One of our usual dishes is Fried Squid for RM25.00 (small) and this was good, fresh, and crunchy. Lastly, we had the Water Boiled Whelk for RM20.00, which was also okay. The total bill for 3 people was RM174.05. The price is reasonable and the portion size is okay.
We feel that the taste wasn't as great as before, hit or miss, but we will still come again to give it another try at this new location. Also, there weren't many customers that day, but the food took a while to arrive. We must compliment the new staff—they are polite and attentive. Their old staff used to be quite rude and hard to get their attention. It would be better if all the staff could wear proper masks, head coverings, and aprons since they are working in...
Read moreOn 29 October 2023, my family of four came to Kuala Selangor, with the intention of having lunch at Riverview. As it was 12:30 when we arrived, the place was crowded. On a whim, we decided to try the restaurant next door, which was Restoran Makanan Laut Jeti. This was our first time here.
We ordered Sweet & Sour Crab, Kailan Ikan Masin, Salted Egg Squid, Sizzling Beancurd and Butter Fried Prawns. And nasi putih, of course.
Verdict: Overall, all the dishes were excellent. The star of the show was surprisingly the Salted Egg Squid as it had a nicely crunchy batter that we've never experienced before. The Kailan Ikan Masin also had a very unique type of dried & crunchy ikan masin, which was delicious. The crab, prawns, vege etc. were all fresh, no complaints there. The fresh orange juice was also very delightful n thirst quenching.
Suggestions: Next time, I would definitely prefer to order the XL crabs, as the normal ones that we got, made me feel like I'd rather put in the same amount of effort to really dig out the crab flesh on a much bigger crab (tho, of course, this would come with a price hike - buyer be forewarned).
Best of all, the price at the end of it all was a mere RM209 (might be due to the smaller crabs). Totally way lower than what I expected, and a very pleasant surprise.
Will I Return?: Definitely, with the aim of checking out other dishes, and especially the XL crabs!
Hope this helps you to decide on where to have a good seafood experience in Kuala Selangor, the next time you're in the...

One of the staff taking order, I order salad shrimp, she said today no salad then I said just give fried shrimp and request mayonnaise for dipping, she said they don have mayonnaise because their chef cooking no use mayonnaise. I just thinking when they want do salad only go buy mayonnaise? We order curry fish head but we like to know how much and one claypot roughly how many person can eat. She said Rm7/100gram but don know chef put how many gram then we order medium instead of small claypot because she don know and she no patience and lazy go to ask. When serve curry fish head I count fish head cube mana tahu very very small fish head cube about 9pcs to 12pcs sound 9pcs to 12pcs look like alot but exactly really small like u can't imagine. All vegetables put alot in curry so no one know fish got how many. I order mix vegetable it call "Lo Han Chai" but we only get broccoli, cauliflower, carrot very very thinny slice and button mushroom 3slice thinny combine also not enough 1pc like I can eat at economy rice stall and no need pay until Rm14. Slizzing oyster egg very salty but their oyster quite fresh. Be honest don let people look affordable but food given not really match the price. I really don like people treat customer...
