I decided to go for a peaceful morning walk at a small garden near PACC, coinciding with the "You Ni Market" event. At first, parking was not an issue early in the morning, but the situation deteriorated as the event got into full swing around 11 am.
One of the major issues I encountered was the handling of parking by the RELA (Rela Auxiliary Police). They seemed to be allowing cars into the parking area without verifying whether they were attending the event or simply visiting the park. This lack of oversight contributed to the parking chaos.
To make matters worse, when it was time to leave, all the exit roads were blocked, leaving us with no choice but to reverse our cars out. However, even during this process, it seemed like the RELA officers were not coordinating effectively, as they continued to allow other cars to enter the parking area, further exacerbating the traffic congestion.
Overall, the performance of the RELA officers during this event was far from satisfactory. Instead of assisting with traffic management, they seemed to make the situation worse. It's essential for event organizers and authorities to improve their coordination and traffic control to ensure a smoother experience for attendees and...
Read moreWe, my wife and I, revisited this park after several years absence. It's still the best place for a brisk walk or a jog. The circuit around the lake is exactly 1.15km. That is what is marked on the track. Marks are indicated every 200m all the way round. Best to go early in the morning, around 730am when the air is fresh and cool. There are many ardent joggers and walkers of all levels here. There are 2 exercise stations at around 500m and 1100m distance. There are also a few nicely built shaded rest areas with concrete seats around the lake. Parking is ample, but on weekends it quickly gets full, there might be a small jam as cars coming into the car park will meet cars exiting. Even if the parking area is full, you can still park beside the road. There is also another, albeit shorter circuit, around the other lake, on the left, as you drive into the park grounds. Another attraction are the fish and tortoises in the lake. There're literally thousands of fish in the lake, especially catfish. Visitors are commonly seen feeding the fish with bread. I once saw a grandma and her grandchildren feed the fish with 4 huge loaves! But catching the fish is absolutely forbidden, although it's not stated on any of...
Read moreGreat outdoors for exercises. Lots of people during early morning session (0630 - 0900). After 0900 hrs crowd at park reduced to just a handful.
One complete round walking = 1.20km/1, 603 steps. Beautiful big scenic lake but lacking concrete seating in surrounding for relaxing experience.
Additional exercise apparatus at strategic location would be fantastic.
There is a police pondok at the entrance to this park, i suppose they are there to provide some form of deterence to would be offenders.
One could see that the lake is well stocked with fishes judging from the early morning playful splashing in the middle of the lake.
There is another pond and a lake surrounded by Holiday Villa hotel and housing in the vicinity but those areas are basically deserted and quiet with only the Crocodile farm restaurant coming to life to cater to lunch and dinner crowds.
One would be lucky to catch a glimsp of a family of otters feeding or simply playing in the main lake now and then. These creatures are not local inhabitants but from another section of Subang. They can be seen coming through a large monsoon drain from the MESINIAGA tower section...
