We visited on a Saturday night. Parking was quite a challenge but it was something that we were aware of. The cafe was very packed but we managed to find a table at the balcony - outdoor seating area. The seating arrangements were not entirely pleasant as the tables were very close to each other and we could hear the conversation of the couple sitting at the next table. It was also quite hard to move around especially if you are a big sized person.
Order had to be made at the counter. It was quite inconvenient as there were five of us and we did not want to crowd the counter while looking at the menu. I resorted to taking photos of the menu and whatsapp-ing them to my family members at the table.
Service was fast and the staff were very polite. They addressed the customers as 'sir' or 'madam'. I usually would not pay attention to these details but it felt nice to be addressed in such way. :) The waiters/waitresses also took away the plates once we finished eating so it felt more comfortable to chat. It was also an efficient way to work in a tight space.
We enjoyed the food (smoked salmon pasta, salted egg seafood pasta - they ran out of the soft shell crab unfortunately, chicken arrabiata and buttermilk chicken sandwich) and felt that it was worth the price. I really appreciate that they allow you to choose to have your pasta with chicken, beef bacon, seafood, ham, salmon or on its own (each choice is charged differently). As someone who is allergic to seafood, I sometimes get frustrated when I am not able to order pasta because it only comes with seafood and taking the seafood out would change the taste completely. You could also ask for more pasta at an additional charge.
And most of all, I love seeing multiracial patrons eating in...

This place has been around for quite a while, and it’s always nice to see how they’ve kept the menu fresh while holding on to the classics. A good mix of comfort food and café staples — perfect for casual catch-ups or a post-hospital visit if you’re coming from SJMC (it’s just a short walk away).
Highly recommend trying the Steak and Fries — cooked medium rare, just how I like it. The fries are crispy and well-seasoned, and the steak itself has a nice chewy bite without being tough. What really ties it together is the citrusy, tangy sauce on the side that balances the richness and keeps things from feeling too jelak.
Next up is the Baked Rigatoni. Creamy, cheesy and baked to a nice golden top. You can add chicken, beef, or seafood for a more filling option. Comforting and satisfying — just the kind of thing you’d want on a slower day.
Now, let’s talk desserts. Their Red Velvet Cupcakes are a must. The cake itself isn’t overly sweet, and it pairs perfectly with the creamy, slightly tangy frosting. A good old-school cupcake done right.
Parking here can be a hassle, but there’s some allocated residential parking just beside the café. All in all, a dependable spot with good vibes and great food — definitely worth checking out if you’re...
Read moreI was there for brunch and the place is already almost full when I arrived at 12.15pm. Parking is a bit of a hassle as the area is small and tight. Many cars are double-parked. But I was fortunate to get a parking bay as another car moved out. The Upstairs cafe is a small, yet cozy and welcoming. All orders are taken at the counter and paid. The only types of payment accepted are cash and Maybank online. This is a bit inconvenient to the customers. The three of us preferred the outside seating area and is cozy and comfortable, eventhough is was hot outside. Food is tasty and the portion is just right and we felt full as we cleared the plates. I ordered the Beef Lasagna @RM21.90 and it has the spinach sauce based. It tastes great. My son had the Eggs Benny Turkey@RM16.90. It looks great and taste even better. My daughter, on the other hand, had the Cheese steak sandwich @RM19.90 and is topped with a sunny side egg. This looks great, too and taste just as good. Our drinks are Ice latte and a hot cappucino for me. It was a great experience and I would definitely make a trip back here for some more good,...
