Bethlehem f'Għajnsielem is an enchanting and unforgettable experience! This living nativity village offers an authentic atmosphere that makes you feel as if you’ve traveled back in time to the days of Jesus’ birth. The entire setup is incredibly well-designed, with stunningly detailed handmade decorations, historical costumes, and a vibrant sense of community.

One of the highlights is the presence of live animals, including donkeys, sheep, and goats, which bring the entire scene to life. The food and drink stalls are fantastic, offering traditional treats and warm beverages that add to the festive spirit. The handmade jewelry and crafts available for purchase are unique and beautifully crafted, making for wonderful souvenirs or gifts.

Families with children will love the many attractions designed especially for younger visitors, including interactive activities, live performances, and the chance to pet the animals. It’s a perfect place to explore, learn, and enjoy together.

The effort and dedication of the organizers and volunteers are evident in every detail. You can feel their passion for preserving tradition and spreading the true message of Christmas. A must-visit event for anyone on Gozo during the festive season – highly recommended for families, couples, and anyone who wants to experience the magic of...

Although "Bethlehem" is supposed to be only a Christmas event, the "village" is accessible throughout the year with more events being added all the time (stations of the cross at Easter). From February to November it is not "occupied" apart from by a few Chickens. At Christmastime, however, Bethlehem comes alive. On selected dates in December and January you will find a bustling recreation of the Holy Land at the time of Christ's birth. Roman soldiers rub shoulders with farmers, shopkeepers, shepherds, innkeepers, wise men, carpenters, bakers, fishermen and tourists alike. Stables are filled with a huge array of animals, not to mention a living nativity with Christ himself portrayed by a local newborn child. Extra ferries are laid on to coincide with the re-enactments and - although it is only a short walk from Mgarr terminal - a miniature train will shuttle you to the entrance. Take a step back in time, enjoy a mqaret (traditional date pastry), a glass of wine, take a trip on a traditional fishing boat (yes, there's even a "lake") and pay your respects to...

It is a small type of village resembling the actual Bethlehem. It is very small. It is like a set of small one room buildings, like a market or bazaar type. You'll get to see some of the shops and structures giving you a feel like you're in the actual aforementioned city. It was closed. It almost feel like it was closed for good. It is a quick stop where you can easily spend about between 15 to an 30 minutes. I posted a picture of the map showing the village just to give you an idea how it supposed to look. If you have time to spare in your trip, then you should visit this place. If not, then take that time to visit other places.
