The Parlour Bar and Restaurant What a wonderful surprise! Last Thursday, we decided to go to Ghajnsielem, Gozo, to a favorite restaurant. When we arrived, it was packed, so we decided to walk over to the Parlour Restaurant, which we had never tried. We were happy when we finally went in and ate. They have seating inside and out, but we chose the inside because of the heat at that time of day. The Parlour’s menu has many ‘comfort’ food items we love: Beef Stew, Rabbit Stew, and Vegetarian dishes, especially Vegetarian Vreteno and Schnitzel. If you are craving seafood, they have grilled salmon or swordfish. They also have a large assortment of seafood starters, fried calamari, and grilled octopus or prawns thermidor. We saw two huge pizzas come out of the kitchen. The pepperoni looked loaded and delicious. I’m going to try the rib-eye on my next visit. I had hearty beef stew. The vegetables were perfect, and the tremendous amount of tender beef was melt-in-your-mouth good. My partner had the Schnitzel, which was cooked perfectly in a light batter, tender and juicy. I was impressed with the large side of veggies that came with the stew. The cauliflower, zucchini, carrots, and squash were cooked to perfection. Patas, many seafood, are on the menu, which we must try. For the lighter side, there is a large assortment of salads to choose from. We were surprised to see a Shopska salad on the menu. It is the national dish of Bulgaria, made with lettuce, cucumbers, and red onion, a delicious combination. We will be back soon with a larger group of friends to try more dishes for what we expect to be a gastronomic delight. Reasonably priced with friendly service, we recommend The Parlour Restaurant in Ghajnsielem, Gozo. More...

We visited around Easter and were treated to the most delicious home-cooked meal: tender, flavorful lamb, a fresh and authentic Bulgarian Shopska salad with creamy white cheese, perfectly cooked calamari, and homemade desserts.
It was such a joy to find a place with real food, made with love. A truly special spot we’ll remember fondly and hope...
Read moreAlso 5 stars for value! Chef knows food! I live in a salmon-rich area and eat it often yet this could be the best cooked salmon I have ever had! The freshness, excellent preparation (cooked perfectly), flavors, and presentation are on par with the best restaurants of the world…maybe better. His simple garlic-parsley sauce is balanced and compliments the salmon perfectly. While the decor is not fancy, the kindness of the staff and the delicious food make this a top recommendation!!!! And, if the weather suits the outdoor seating has a great view of the church...
