I would of gave the the hotel less stars, but the bartenders were awesome. I stayed there for 3 nights on one of the nights wen I got back to the room I noticed my wedding band was missing, I flipped that place inside out and couldn’t locate it. My wedding band was left in the restroom counter on top of the green tile they have there for the soaps and stuff. I contacted the lobby to try to talk to someone in charge and I was told that the boss was gone for the night. I was told by the receptionist that he would leave a note so that first thing in the morning wen the boss got there he would reach out. The next morning no one reached out to me I checked with the lobby and again the boss wasn’t there.. A short time after a lady that said she was the “ama de llaves” (housekeeping supervisor) came to my room with a maintenance guy to pull the P Trap assembly off the sink. Before they got started I told them they where waisting their time because the sink had a strainer. They went on and removed it. Obviously it wasn’t there. The housekeeping supervisor told me that the lady that cleaned our room was off. Again I asked I want to speak with the person in charge of the hotel and again they were not available. Witch seemed like BS. The housekeeping supervisor took my info and she said wen the maid that cleaned your room comes back from her days off she was going to talk to her and reach out to me with the feedback. 3-4 days later I received a call from the housekeeping supervisor to inform me that the maid did not take my wedding band.. but she was able to describe it to me ?? Witch was weird because I had not took it off any other day.. it wasn’t the cash value of the ring it was the emotional value. Make sure if u visit, don’t leave anything of value in the room because it disappears.. it could of been handled better by the employees/management.. but they...
Read moreI was exhausted when I checked in this past week, and was looking forward to a good night's sleep. However, I kept feeling an irritating sensation all night long, and wasn't able to sleep. Finally, at 4am, I turned the lights on and lifted my cover. There were black bed bug casings ALL OVER the sheets. I've experienced bedbugs once before at a hotel, and am very familiar with their behavior/look/etc. I am 100% certain the room was infested.
I called the front desk, the morning manager came to take a look, and admitted to the bedbugs after viewing them. I had to ask him for an apology since he was trying to minimize the severity of the situation. They moved me to another room that morning.
When it was time to check out a few days later, I asked to be refunded for the first night since I was in a room with bedbugs and didn't sleep at all. Honestly, I shouldn't even have had to ask, and the hotel should have offered some kind of discount on all the remaining nights as well as some kind of compensation for my negative experience.
Not only did they refuse to refund me the first night, they had the audacity to tell me that they looked at the sheets and determined that it was "just sand". Extremely insulting. I'm pretty aware of the difference between SAND and BED BUGS. Also -- does that mean they don't change sheets between guests? Why would there by "sand" in my bed before I ever got into it? I get that they are trying to protect themselves but it was in extremely poor taste and does not reflect well on them as a business.
It's a shame because the hotel itself was nice enough but the way my situation was handled was appalling. Check your beds before you sleep if...
Read moreHotel Catedrál embodied a minimalist vibe that was soothing to us travelers in need of a vacation from the daily work & school grind!
The moment we entered the hotel premises, we sensed a feeling of cleanliness, simplicity, relaxation, and true Peace - La Paz!!!
Our check-in process was smooth and easy. The staff Cesar & Jose greeted us with warm smiles and were very thorough, professional, and accommodating.
Upon opening the hotel room, we immediately smiled as we smelled the scent of a fresh, clean room, together with a minimalist design, and all the simple amenities we needed for the week.
We loved the giant rainwater showerhead that hung from the walk-in shower ceiling! Shower water was warm within seconds, and towels were abundantly supplied as needed. The room was quiet when it was time to rest, and it was spacious for three people.
The rooftop patio, along with the infinity pool + bar were the PERFECT place to hang out anytime of the day!
Beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding area with La Catedrál Church across the street! We were close to soooo many stores, restaurants, and things to do! We walked all over town and enjoyed the Carnaval that was going on at the Malecón all weekend (mid-Feb). We caught a Didi (like Uber) if we needed to get anywhere that was a little further.
Oh, and the BEST meals that we had each day were at the hotel buffet downstairs!!! Ommmggggg!!! The restaurant staff were attentive, attractive, amazing people who made the dining experience lovely!
We will definitely be staying here again on our next trip to La Paz!!! We ABSOLUTELY recommend Hotel Catedrál! Sooo HaPpY it was such a...
